Fun southerly swell over coming days, nothing onwards
Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Thursday 30th July)
Best Days: Friday through Tuesday
This week and next week (Jul 31 – Aug 7)
There's been no change to tomorrow's and the weekend's S/SW groundswell pulses with exposed breaks due to peak tomorrow evening and Saturday morning in the inconsistent 6ft+ range.
A slow drop in size is due from Sunday and further into Monday.
Our acute and tricky S'ly groundswell for Tuesday is also still on track, with a vigorous polar frontal system firing up today to the south-southwest of Tassie, aiming a fetch of S/SW gales through our southern swell window.
The swell will hardly make an impact east of Bali, with a peak due Tuesday afternoon to the 3-5ft range, easing into Wednesday and further Thursday.
Moderate to fresh E/SE trades are due to continue, lighter and more variable early each morning.
Besides an inconsistent long-range SW groundswell for Thursday afternoon in the 3ft to possibly 5ft range, there's still unfortunately nothing major showing on the charts.
A large upper level blocking pattern (opposite to a strong node of the Long Wave Trough) will result in no significant storms moving through our swell window next week, with hopefully a break down in the pattern later next week.
We'll have a closer look at this on Tuesday.

And the poor run continues..
out of here!! Still waves every day though but geez the crowds are all in the same places. Frothing brazzos everywhere
I am Heading over the end off September hoping for a late season.
Be good cylinders I think there's something brewing for September. How spewing would you be getting on a 10 day boat trip on the weekend.
Hopefully enough to fire up the east for some early morning sessions this weekend. Enough swell to get into Nusa Lembongan you think? Cheers.
Yeah should be enough for Shipwrecks.
Belated thanks, got to visit Razors which was pretty decent. Keramas was ridiculously good last weekend. Bit too big some of the days but great viewing from the channel.
Great to hear!!
Not wrong Mick. I would make sure the fishing rod is packed haha.
