Moniz family home burns down
Overnight, the Moniz family home on the East Side of Oahu has burnt down.
The house, in Kuliouou, caught fire at 7:45pm with two occupants home - Tony Moniz and his wife Tammy. The rest of the Moniz family were travelling and learned of the fire overnight. Seth Moniz is currently in quarantine in Sydney.
The fire began in the garage with Moniz attempting to douse it with a fifteen-year old fire extinguisher. Quickly overwhelmed, Moniz escaped with passports and birth certificates before the house was engulfed in flames.
Investigations are continuing today.

Tough luck for a gentle Hawaiian giant, true gentleman and fantastic surfer.
The interview is an example of his positive attitude and family priorities that will surely see him receive the karma he deserves. Go you good thing TM!
It's amazing given the context. Just hours earlier the man's house burnt down - a second-generation house built by "Grandpa" - and with it all he and his family's Earthly possessions. Covered by insurance, yeah, but everything of sentimental value is gone.
And he stoically faces the camera like that.

And?
I've only never heard good things said about Tony Moniz. Really sad to see something like this happen to him. I guess the only real positive is that nobody got hurt.
