Watch: The Duranbah squeeze
The WSL has all but confirmed the Quiksilver Pro, which starts tomorrow, will run at D'Bah owing to the non-existent Snapper bank. That's all well and good, but we're not sure how that's going to work with the Australian Bodyboard Association who are running the Queensland Pro, also at Duranbah this weekend. Doesn't leave much space for non-comp punters hoping for a weekend session.
Still, as this vid shows, D'bah can handle a load. The vid also shows the banks to be in fine fettle.
Surfers include Mikey Wright, Gabriel Medina, John John, Jack Freestone, Wade Carmichael, Jesse Mendes, Kanoa Igarashi, Italo Ferreira, Kolohe Andino, and Matt Banting.
Postscript: Latest word is that Greenmount is also a possibilty. So much intrigue...

Spot on.
"D'bah can handle a load". A call out to Gary G if ever I've seen one. He's normally only visiting that area for Schoolies week though.
Nice Br.....Nice......lol.
If only Gary had a dollar for every time he’d tried to escape an indecent exposure charge by hiding out in the sand dunes south of the border at Duranbah.
These squares in the police force don’t understand that in bathing suit fashion, if you’re not spilling out over the edge, you’re taking up too much space.
if it's a bucket throwing comp give gabs the trophy now. his whips looked sharp. same as italo
That was the worlds best on location. Not really much too look forward too..
Farrrrk! They all surf so fast...... I really liked Wade Carmichael blasts though. Booooyaaaah!
Seems like a lot of (albeit small) barrels went unridden in deference to a hack

*D'bah Story begins...
"There were guards placed on the beach and rocks below the border fence at Point Danger to restrict any movement in that direction, especially as Tweed Heads 'Surfers', deprived of Greenmount and Kirra at the height of the season, were happily discovering the Surf at what would become known as Duranbah Beach (following the wreck of the Duranbah in November of the same year 1919."
