Watch: Out on a limb with Twiggy Baker
"As I set my line, I saw this step develop halfway dwn the face."
"You know, I knew I was in it, so I had to stick it."
We've already seen it 1,000 times but how about once more, eh? This quick clip is put together by Isurus wetsuits, with Twig narrating those wondrous few seconds, even giving himself a fresh burst of goosebumps.

Jeff Bushman made that board
Wonder why he didn't ride one of his own?
GF, apparently Twig works (or has worked) with shapers all over the world: Bushman, Pukas, Webster, Paul Naude, to refine his boards. That then feeds into his line of Twig Surfboards guns.
As I understand it, he's always on Bushmans in Hawaii.
What a beast of a wave. Wonder how long he can stay fit enough to take that on.
Certainly not the first piece of perfect equipment Bushy has made.
‘bit of blood on the lung’ - just another day in the lineup. insane
Insane
There are certain big wave spots I can imagine at least paddling out to have a look. Jaws is not one of them. That is completely next level stuff right there. I'm surprised he's able to find a wetsuit big enough to contain his balls.
Mine is Mavericks, Spud.
In most footage that place looks bloody awful. I did, however, watch that long, silly Garret McNamara comeback video from Mavericks, and it looked very easy and playful, and only about 10-12ft.
20ft and with 80 hopefuls on it? No thanks.
Is Roy Stewart still alive?
Roy is back in the saddle as Building Control Officer Waikato
I imagine he'll be looking pretty favourably upon buildings built out of Paulownia.
God forbid you'd end up in an argument with him. Nightmare! :-)
He's always been unfailingly polite and helpful to me.
But on the Flexible to Stubborn Spectrum he would veer firmly towards the latter, is what I mean :-)
Obviously didn't sell a million dollar surfboard then?
Snapped my Bushman at Outside Corner 2015...still feel the pain of the loss.
Yeah, that would hurt. Nothing worse than snapping a special surfboard. Except maybe eternal damnation in hell. I imagine that would be pretty bad.
