Swellnet for the Lifeline Classic
The Lifeline Northern Beaches Surf Classic is happening on Sunday 30th April 2017 at Dee Why Beach.
The Classic is a tag team event and Swellnet has registered its own team of four surfers. The surfers are:
- Craig Brokensha
- Mick Freeman
- Martin Arrisueno
- Tom Hill
Also, Swellnet will be joined by an as-yet unknown legend on the day.
Most importantly, however, is the fundraising because the Lifeline Classic is as much a chance to support a great cause as it is to compete. Testament to that are the two trophies awarded on the day: one to the team that wins the surfing competition, and the other to the team that raises the most funds.
Swellnet is stoked to be part of a great cause.

Shit I am going to miss it!
We're struggling a little behind target, if anyone could spare some cash for a great cause it would be greatly appreciated.
Also if you're around on Sunday come down and say hi, swell's gonna be thumping!
I find the poor response to the fundraiser a bit disheartening. So no-one out there has had mental health problems or dealt with them amongst family or friends? I find that hard to believe. I know there are a lot of charities out there asking for donations but few I would suggest offer the possibility of a rapid return on your donation. This one does. You and yours are not immune. If, in the long term, you avoid these issues, then you are an exception. Lifeline saves lives. Maybe the next one will be someone you love.
And it being ANZAC Day. Consider that 8 veterans have committed suicide already this year.
