Looking backward, looking forward - video
You needn't be an ardent webwatcher to know Hawaii had a banner season. For much of last year scientists determined we were in El Nino and the link between that and above average surf in the North Pacific is well founded. As such, the season was hugely anticipated and didn't let anyone down, not the guys on the ground in Hawaii or those of us living vicariously through web clips. We're now well into the late season and the swell is still pulsing.
The Perfect Wave travel company has just released this vid from Andy Potts who spent all January on Oahu. It's a look back at the month that was.
And though everyone has been getting pumped on Hawaiian surf, TPW are savvy enough to know Hawaii ain't everyone's cup of chai. So before looking back they invite you to look forward to the coming Indo season.

I was there with my family last January and it was the most relaxing, perfect pumping
surf with brilliant conditions ranging from 4ft to 40ft surf (west cost then) so chilled
with massive amount of aloha and so chilled could not possibly be topped. Uncrowded
Now supposed to be going to Bali in April but I cant bring myself and family to go there
after Hawaii with its over crowded and aggro surf, super nasty locals if you don't want
to pay them off, dirty filthy streets , surf and traffic madness. Now watching charts to shoot of back to Hawaii. Bali has lost all the magic.
Yep, we were also there .... Agree totally - magic. That was a special season.
There is a lot more to Indo than just Bali!
Not when you have only 2 weeks and family. Not to mention every person
I speak to have all said too many boats too many surf camps too much aggro.
Try Rote or around there
