Behind The Shot - Tim Bonython
Tim Bonython's on location in Nazare for a month, documenting the peak Atlantic swell season. Before unfortunately being robbed of his camera gear he captured some footage of the biggest swell so far this season. Tim Explains:
Easiest the biggest day of the season & no one to surf it.
Thousands lined the light house but only to see mother ocean unload some of the biggest waves of the season.
Nazare was supposed to be onshore and messy but the true fact was if Garrett & Kealii and rest of the chargers were out there could of been some big wave records broken.
There were some absolute monsters out there. Easy 30 to 50 feet. Faces were possibly 60 to 80 feet. Although hard to tell as there was no one out.
All in all it was still mezermizing. All day long literally thousands poured down to have a close look at the natural phenomenon.
Surfers or no surfers it still had to be the best free shows on the planet.
