Longboards on Jetstar
UGH! Jetstar the airline that is incompatible with modern surfing they just are inflexible about everything except filling their planes.
Yeah they're cheap so is their attitude and service.
Garuda carry longboards free as long as they don't have a little twee Quaintass clerk booking you in, then it could cost up to $150. Coming back if you have a good relationship cheap dollars with your porter who brings your board in from the drop off then you should be sweet. BTW Garuda doesn't seemed to have crashed for a while. Done Indo seventeen times with Garuda no problems, some of the internal airlines very suspect
Tiger might be the go to get there but not sure!
Honestly don't even bother trying. I have had numerous arguments with jetstar staff over the last 12 months. There is no flexibility at all. At the most, they will let you take on a longer travel boardbag but make you tape the bag down so it complies. I got a 6'8 on 12 months ago, but the next time they told me I obviously knew the rules and shouldn't be trying to bend the rules, and i had to leave it behind the counter. The do let you take longer boards out of Sydney than they do Gold Coast or Brisbane. Go figure. Tried being polite, tried yelling, tried it all.
they have a post with a bit of tape on it next to the check in counter to measure it

Never go with them mate! I either go with Virgin Blue or Air Asia to KL then onto the somewhere in Indo from there. They are useless and unflinching in their policies. Last time I was coming back from Denpasar I saw 3 dudes have to leave their boards at the airport because they had changed the size limits whilst they were on their stay, even though they had brought them in with them 4 weeks earlier.

Wow.. very interesting to hear.. thanks for the update stylemaster1970.
Hey all. Has anyone taken a longboard on an international Jetstar flight to Bali?
I know you can take up to 277cm but I come in at 290cm. I'm taking a 6'6 also but was
just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and how flexible they are?
Any info would be great.
And before someone bags me about longboarding in Indo.....spare me goblok.
Cheers.....
