Best Barrel - Post some vids
Gotta love this vision...
Clicky
Deep and hanging on by the toe tips"
Was gonna post that one Clif but then on the way to finding it found that Brian Conelly video which i'd also seen before.
Another great barrel video is Timmy Curren out at Cloud Break.
Paddles into a bomb, draws out the bottom turn and then just gets barreled of his nut while looking so casual!
Hi Craig,
This one?
I had it like this once, and bigger. It was many many years ago. Scared the hell out of me. I was just a grom. This was just when Tavarua Island Resort was starting out. They were in the courts sorting out exclusivity rights. So we were able to surf it without staying at the resort. We were very lucky. When the court case was settled we were not allowed back there. I cannot afford to stay at the resort. I miss the wave and place. It provided me with some never-forgotten sessions. C'est La Vie.
any of you good men happen to shoot that baz I scored at big Anga last autumn?
anyone??
fucking SHAT all over any of those shoulder hops above
Clif, that footage is insane... Must be the same one Craig's talking about... That last wave! Awesome...
Didn't know you surfed Tavarua. Looking forward to hearing about it :-D

Filthy pit - R.I.P. Benbow
We're now saturated with point of view footage but that stuff from Conley still stands up as among the best. Love the last shot as he dives into oblivion.
Nice work rejigging this long gone old thread, bb.

Scardy your a mad dog
The mad dog on a 7'2 AB channel bottom.
Scardy is a freak that one was incredible !
But everyone on Instagram said sunny coasters are soft and shit tube riders.

Great point ld .
A lot of great surfers start out from shit locales ( not that the Sunny is ) , but look at guys like Shea Lopez , the Hobgoods , Kelly ...... Although without the Caribean nearby I'm uncertain .... Never the less.
I vote Kalbarri as the place to produce mad dog tube riders . Although mid west SA , and Tassie is fast on its heels . Special mention goes to anyone out of Perth . List too long to mention .

Yep I agree the NW produces per capita a large percentage of hard charging buggers... SW WA, west coast SA and south coast NSW would have to get a solid mention too
Wcsa can count on one hand . Wa is a different story tho . Yes yes I did surf & hang our with scardy @ gland in late 90s
It is a feat of heroics just entering and exiting the water in SA caml... Haha

Nasty drop in to get that one by Koa, I guess Go Pros have right of way!
I wondered about that one too Saltman, was wondering if that bloke on the inside was gonna make it? He looked super deep but if you were gonna come out from super deep, that place would be the spot.
How sicks this one https://www.facebook.com/1541034622808466/videos/1661678510744076/
Ripper..love the bugs hands behind the back claim.

Hands down Conley deserves the gong for great tube footage. Reading an old Surfers Journal about Conley and the area in Mexico where he now lives and filmed those waves, talk about hard core it doesn't sound like a tropical paradise.
Says he lost his sponsors as they figured his stuff wasn't relevant to surfing anymore - sad heh
