Queensland's Chief Health Officer is likely to close several beaches this week due to the dills still gathering in groups.
Dr Jeannette Young was quoted in Brisbane media tonight: "Police will be out there and if people don’t adhere, they’ll just close the beaches."
Under recently adopted legislation, Dr Young can issue public health directions to ban outdoor activities if deemed unsafe. As of today, the outdoor gathering limit is two.
All of Queensland's points will come under closer scrutiny. It's hard to see Noosa and the Superbank passing that scrutiny.
Some beachies might survive the shutdown if we play it smart, surf solo and spread out.
Stay safe.
