I'm happy to answer but need more time to do the research, busy with something now. I refuse to answer such questions without referencing the source (and the source cannot be youtube, facebook, twitter and similar crap). Basically, anyone can find content that supports their biases on youtube. I will only accept a proper peer-reviewed study. If I'm unable to find such a study I will clearly admit it and leave the question unanswered. This clearly means that question is unanswered due to my inability to find a study or that study was never being carried out. It will not mean that one is better than the other. I will come back to it when I find a bit more time and share my findings.
Blowin, with that innocent little question in the form of a leading statement, you've proved you're either:
1. Skilled in discrediting science, and spreading doubt.
or
2. Incredibly naive to the potential damage such statements can create.
Pretty sure it's 2. in which case all good, you're only human.
Blowin wrote:This is for Stok, Roadkill and anyone else who is hiding under their bed wearing nappies and three masks.
Here's my response, after looking in detail at the studies I could find online and through social media:
Percentage risk of severe illness from covid before vaccination = 100%
Percentage risk of severe illness from covid post vaccination = 0%
Apparently, after you get your booster your ability to weigh up risks is skewed, so maybe someone who's unvaxxed can cross check the above for me.

Whereas misinformation is easy to disprove. Get it?
The misinformation- currently ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands of healthy, innocent Australians- is that vaccines should be coerced / mandated in a blind, nationwide rollout.
If you could easily disprove that it’d be very, very handy.
Actually, disproving it isn’t the hard part, it’s overcoming the political corruption behind it and it’s support amongst the stupid / bitter dumb cunt Australians, which is the hard part.
If you could ponder this and do your part by communicating the problem with the hateful mandated vaccine policy it would be an incredible individual contribution to Australia’s civil society.
There’s young healthy people who are needlessly being subjected to terrible distress with real world harms - mental, physical, social and financial- who badly need the help of anyone who can assist them to fight this unjust politically motivated persecution. You seem to have a wide social circle….let your friends and peers no that you don’t accept this political tyranny of innocent Australians.
Craig wrote:Also Ape A has covered my thoughts on the 25y/o well, but you said absolute so it takes a bloody lot of research and gathering of info to get to the bottom of that.
Huh?
It must be a widely shared and cited gathering of facts upon which to base such an inhumane political policy surely?
The answer to that is ….not!
@blowin Also, before I start my research can we agree on a definition of a healthy person? Would you say that 'obese' people are unhealthy? Or do we include 'overweight' people into unhealthy as well?
Based on this source - https://www.aihw.gov.au/reports/australias-health/overweight-and-obesity obesity and overweight are defined as:
'BMI is calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by the square of their height in metres. A BMI of 25.0–29.9 is classified as overweight but not obese, while a BMI of 30.0 or over is classified as obese. A BMI of greater than 35.0 is classified as severely obese.'
The same source says that 65% of men in 25-34 age group and 49.2% of women in 25-34 age group are overweight or obese.
Are these people considered unhealthy or healthy?

Your opinion is that an unvaccinated, but otherwise healthy, unvaccinated 25 year old Australian is faced with a 100% risk of a serious outcome if they catch covid and a 0% risk,of serious illness if they catch covid whilst vaccinated?
Really?
You’re saying that you think there’s no chance at all for a healthy 25 year old to avoid serious illness if they catch covid?
Mate - I’m going to call you mate because “bloke” is reserved for dickheads, whilst you seem primarily stupid - you obviously have NO grasp of anything that’s being discussed by anyone on this thread and maybe even any other thread.
It’s a bit disappointing to only at this late stage , firmly establish your severe inadequacy to comment with any authority on anything more onerous than the latest Wiggles album.

I definitely would not consider an obese person to be healthy. But surely if obesity is the only exclusionary factor to health then the government could assist the person in losing weight so that their overall risk to public health is lowered across the board* instead of demanding they take an injection which carries risk of harm itself?
Do both if you like.
Healthy, overweight and obese.
* Obesity would be responsible for more pressure on the health system and more individual poor health outcomes in a single year than the 50 years of covid sickness.

And by blindly promoting vaccines of which you haven’t given any thought to absolute efficacy , you are supporting the ugly and hateful political persecution of innocent Australians.
Everyone needs to loudly and unapologetically shout down the authoritarian pests who think nothing of denying Australians entitlement to autonomy over their own bodies. It would be different if covid was the existential threat to society that it was made out to be but it is not. There is no justification for this governmental overreach of authority and this overreach is the bigger threat out of the two issues.
I’m asking you to put as much thought into the politicisation of covid as you do into policing thought and speech.
Obviously you don’t have to do a damn thing I ask but asking is all I can do of anyone. I believe in a fair , just and healthy Australia and Covid vaccine mandates / coercion have no place whatsoever in that Australia. Mandates are not fair and just and they do absolutely nothing to further the aim of a healthy nation.
Craig wrote:I'm not for mandates when the vaccines are having less of an impact regarding transmission with Omicron.
It seems like all the data coming out now will prevent that from happening in any case. I think Dan Andrew's is overstepping the mark saying third should be mandated. We'll see what happens.
You're seemingly too centre sitting, and rational of a thinker for this thread Craig - but anyway, intrigued to know what you think Dan Andrews would gain out of overstepping the mark? Why do you think he's doing it?
I too agree that at some point if transmission is not an issue, hospitalisation is not an issue, then yes we should walk away from boosters, but I'm not claiming to have any position as to when that should be.

Yep. You just don’t see the real world harms visited upon those on the wrong side of government authoritarianism because you assume you’ll always be on the right side.
You might be OK if they’re only coming for the unvaccinated but if they come for the dumb-as-dogshit…..then you’re fucked.

Blokemate, as you may have read before, I lived through the Melbourne lockdowns, apparently under the most harshest dictatorship and most blatant grab for tyrannical power in all of history - and am still here. It wasn't that bad.
As far as I know, we can still vote in the next election. We still have separate courts. Freedom of speech. Freedom of media. Need I go on?
No one said any of this was easy, or enjoyable. Big and small sacrifices have been made.

I too agree that at some point if transmission is not an issue, hospitalisation is not an issue, then yes we should walk away from boosters, but I'm not claiming to have any position as to when that should be.
If there's evidence showing that being infected gives appropriate immunity (hence not needing a booster as well) and if we keep seeing the variants waning etc then I don't see the need for mandates.
Boosters look to help for waning immunity from both vaccines and being infected 6 months + down the line but if above, can be left for the individual to make the call if the stress on the hospitals etc remains low.
It's not something I've spent much time worrying about to be honest, the third.
You’re still talking as though vaccines do anything significant for healthy people. Until you figure this out your opinions are worthless.
I don’t say that to be mean and I don’t take any pleasure in saying it. Until you establish in your mind the rationale for forced vaccinating of healthy young people the first time, then your thoughts about the necessity of mandated boosters for the same demographic is a waste of time.

If that's the standard you have for vaccines blowin, you're even dumber than I thought. Vaccines aren't for sick people you dopey fuckwit. they are to stop people getting sick or minimise their symptoms. 2 fucking years you've been banging on about vaccines, and you still don't understand this very simple concept. 5 year old can understand this shit mate.

If you’re in WA and choose not to risk the potential harm of a vaccine which shows no statistically significant improvement in preventing serious illness from covid and which does nothing to prevent transmission of the virus - as is your human right - then you cannot buy a bottle of beer. You can be denied employment. You can lose your existing job. You will be denied entry in cafes, pubs, cinemas and most retail shops. You are subjected to people who feel entitled and encouraged to insult and disparage you by hate spreading political leaders. You are ostracised by some members of society who feel emboldened to spread their hate. You can become depressed. You can fight and argue with loved ones who don’t understand your personal resistance to the jab and who want to,participate in a society from which you are now excluded.

Unvaccinated parents can’t visit their sick kids in hospital in WA. It’s got nothing to do with whether they’re infected or not, it’s persecution for non conformity to a political demand with no scientific or medical justification.

You need to be confronted by the people you glibly cast to the wolves of political persecution. Physically if that’s what it takes to rid Australia of your sociopathy.
Actions have consequences. If you support hateful and divisive political oppression of dissidents and if you encourage and cheer the emotional , physical, mental social trauma inflicted on innocent Australians for political gain then you should be held accountable for your actions. Don't know if I'm funny, but I do find this thread and online conversation funny. Resorting to threats of violence? Thought you'd know better....nah not really. Not surprising.
You actively and openly drop little landmines of misinformation regarding vaccines in this thread. The poor people who are feeling hurt, and persecuted unfortunately have spent a bit too much time listening to online flogs like you, or social media grifters. They've turned a molehill into a mountain. Opportunists have jumped on this with glee, and have spread fear and distrust. You think you're the voice for the persecuted - blokemate - you're the voice which is fueling on their fear and confusion.
You're little comment before, about death apparently coming a few years after Myocarditis - is a perfect example of what is sending people over the edge.
Burleigh's daily updates on the TGA adverse reaction count - is another example.
I'd say take some responsibility for the stuff you post, but I know that aint going to happen.
And yes, please keep going - watching you show your true colours is very, very amusing.

Anyone else here get the impression blowin's about 5'3" and spends a lot of time pumping weights to make himself feel bigger?

It would be great if everyone took a deep breath and began treating each other with a little more kindness.

He is a bully...and would have been all through school, into work, and would be the biggest mouthy ahole in the lineup. Tolerated but not liked. 100% a mummy's boy...and shitty behaviour would have been excused by mummy, which is why he is the person he is now.
Friday is always the day blowin goes full kook. lmao.

It's not something I've spent much time worrying about to be honest, the third.
guess you are a fan of the PM after all, or is it just on here, your not when agreeing with your surf media mates on insta

It’s a distinct lack of kindness and empathy from these muppets which gets me frustrated in the first place. These guys are all too happy to have our bullying politicians treat innocent citizens like pieces of shit. An occasional unkind word in their direction is the least they deserve.
I've created a spreadsheet forecast which I'll update as we go..
