It hit me the other day Bruce Pascoe is actually not that much different to a conspiracy theorist, people like David Icke etc
Take's a base of truth but stretches and adds to it to create something new that people want too hear or believe.
They then promote it through youtube videos, talks, websites, media etc with the aim to sell a product generally a book for $$$.
As we know both have aspects of truth, but both also have aspects that are easily busted and go against science, evidence, majority of experts and known history.

A day or so ago I posted an opinion that the BLM movement has been usurped as a means to orchestrate destabilisation of the USA and so goad Trump into utilising the military to reinstate civility . This would in turn allow a narrative that Trump had turned dictator and allow him to be forcibly removed from office .. Some thought this was a ridiculous theory. I said that Democrats were abandoning their responsibilities towards citizens and allowing anarchy to take hold. I believe they are complicit in this anarchy and enable it as a means to attempt another coup *.
Now we have completely abandoned the tenuous BLM smokescreen and have a majority white anarchy-state being established within the USA.
The Democrats responsible are again complicit.
The Never Trumpers do not care that we are watching democracy being completely disregarded in their attempts to gain power .

Trump is being provoked by Democrat state politicians who hope he will storm the joint and get himself booted. It’s got zero to do with George Floyd , BLM or police brutality.
It won’t be gone in a week. It’ll be funded hard by Anti Trump crew and expanded to other regions as a means to make Trump’s authority look fragile. It’s a political insurrection aimed at either getting rid of a democratically elected leader now or make him seem unelectable during the next elections.
It’s a clever move. It either gets rid of him outright or makes him appear weak in front of the people who support him. I think a trump is more bark than bite though. It’s his typical MO to threaten hard then soften into reality. He might turn it around and highlight the weakness of the Democrats in the situation and turn it around on them .
Who knows if it’ll work ? People lose patience with having parts of their country held to ransom by armed activists. There’s a lot of other Americans with guns who don’t easily indulge the idea of Commies taking over their cities.
That’s the thing about the vocal minority , their noisy echo chamber leads them to believe in their imagined might.
PS ....I was wrong about the Aussie edition cause I overlooked the fact that it’s about US domestic politics. The local version is just parroting what they’ve seen on TV and assuming it’s completely organic. As I’ve said before , of course there’s a legitimate and real groundswell of BLM protest in the USA , but it’s got another program piggybacking on top.
