New surfbrand
And, fuzz, what about some social media pics of the young grommet you gave the free t-shirt?
You did do that right?
Worked well, there is a story in there that your local paper might even pick up ;)
New business, asks for help, gets some help from crazy nutter on internet, nutter doesn't want payment, rather goes for a pay it forward deal, local young kid benefits ... the world of interwebs at work!
Fuzz, have you thought slinging a dozen or so of your tshirts to a hot surfer - one that's recently been dropped from full sponsorship , a fucking hell charger and one that your "heaving " brand name suits perfectly....... ?
like wingnut mentioned..social media- instagram ...let it work for you .
if you want me to buy your tees then take the logo off them
I'm not a walking billboard, I just want nice looking tees that either have patterns/designs/pictures or are totally plain but not logos
Pointy go shop at kmart or target mate.

haha
I'm old enough to remember when surf clothes didn't have the logos on the outside and they looked heaps better than current surf clothes
why do you want to have a logo showing? you know what brand clothes you have on why do you need everyone else to know?
fuzz,
if your looking for some advice on your new business, rather than just getting some cheap publicity on swellnet, you should go to needessentials.com.au and have a look. The're a wetsuit company selling through social media and word of mouth - and no logos on their wetties :)
I know more people that have bought their wetties in the last year than any other brand, so they are doing something right
Fuzz, I've had a look at your site and all your selling is your cool logo, which is fine. but you are also selling a T-shirt and I want that cool logo to last a long time. But nowhere on your face book or website do you mention the actual shirt and why I should buy it. I like your logo and if I saw your shirt in a shop and it was the right price and good quality I'd buy. If it was a big logo I wouldn't, I'm buying mainly for quality and price. My point being that your website at no time points out how being a small company you are hands on checking the quality of all your shirts blah, blah, blah. Instead you have a spiel about you being a weekend warrior,it's not about the vibe, it's not about you fuzz, it's about the shirt.:-)
What's with the photo of the guys on the boat? Your selling T-shirts not boardshorts. Hope that helps, you've chosen a pretty competitive market to get into.
Block him Dano he's spammin'
Yep, think you might've jumped the shark Fuzz. Had a good run but.
.
Fuzz ... simple thing. Did you pay it forward as discussed?
Where's the pic's of the happy grom getting a free t-shirt due to some random act of kindness driven by some dude off the internet?
fuzz wrote:Wingnut, visited your site www.ffwsurfboards.com.au again today, great stuff mate, having a crack at different projects in life is awesome, you never know how things will go until you try them, goodluck with it,has given me some inspiration, thanks again for your help over the past weeks
Hahahhaaa ... mate, to be honest, that's my online journal of my journey. I go back and look to remind myself of how not to fuck up the next board :)
I do like to do things differently ;)
Fuzz, if your interested in why people surf start another thread and stop mentioning your bloody site.
You have shown no interest in any other thread as far as I can see. If you are going to spam forums with your product do it subtly, don't push your site down peoples throats.
I have no idea why I surf, I just do. Put to much into it t do anything else.:-)
I surf so i can get away from people like fuzz

Funny as.
Fuzz , you changed your site a bit, some new pics, a bunch of ol boys on a boat but not one wearing a Heaving tee..........and your facebook you added a link to swellnet,Fanning at shippies....
Are Matson ,Nettle, and Brokensha's free tshirts in the mail yet ?
Be only fair really ..they gave you free exposure on Swellnet ?

And, what about the "pay it forward" arrangement we had? Did you do it?
Pictures on your website? On your Facebook page?
Fuzz, all take and no give ... is well, a no no .
Yeah Fuzz, I gave the three of them a t-shirt. Dunno if they wear them though?
Craig told me he loves the 'Beanz Meanz Fartz' one I gave him, but I think he's just being nice.
Your 'Free Ride' design is looking good in terms of a surfbrand t-shirt. Minimal logo visibility and a simple graphic. Something I would consider wearing. Good work Fuzz
Fuzz, the price rise .......to soon son .....get em out in the market first them sneak the price up......
Someone has to pay for those free t-shirts udo.
Yes I do still sell them Fuzz, I used to have a website but that was just an expense same as the labels that I had. In the end I decided I was not selling a brand(Crustt) I was selling boardcovers. I don't want my business to grow, I'd be too busy. The google link has all the information that is needed, it has my contact info and basic info about covers. My main market is people with 9 t0 11 ft guns , kneeboards and quite a few in remote locations where they need a tough cover due to sun and salt. Most of the inquiries I get though are from people wanting a custom travel cover next week, short conversations.;-)
Heaving = When one vomits.
Increasing apparel sales via forum spamming? Yeah, it's a tough gig.
Fuzzy , did you check with the swellnet team that the Free tshirts arrived ok and were the correct size ?
Udo, he's been in touch re: t-shirts.
HeY Fuzz was talking to a mate in the street the other day and he has been buying these for years and they are damn good quality http://qualitops.com.au/ 100% Australian made and they sell wholesale, you could use them yourself.
I know starting out can be hard mate but it's only been a few weeks , don't give up yet.
It was probably a bit of a let down as it would seem you can't even give them away, but the swell net crew seem pretty up front and are not easily bought, though I have heard a rumour they'll take the odd cash payment through western union.:)
I don't think your going to get the sympathy you're looking for here mate!

Probably equivalent to the sex with your hand fuzzy!
Hey crustt, cool share ... who knew, aussie made t-shirts etc. Awesome!
Fuzz, couple of things ...
1. Did you "pay it forward" as I requested?
2. What other marketing have you done (i.e. besides here and facebook)?
3. How are you rating your success? Was your goal / expectation realistic?
I'm starting a new surfbrand. Can anyone tell me how I can reach fellow surfers and tell them about it?
