Thanks Fitzroy. We might get back into it again. Indo Dreaming has helped with some good info and Dan the owner is a skipper and sells Super Yachts and Ships etc so we might get another chance. Will see.

Groundswell, did you end up buying another boat and what happened to H.M.A.S. BASS ?
Jim Banks rents a boat for The Odyssey trips these days I think.

Gday Udo, no i havent got into other boats since then but i know Danny (other partner in the HMAS Bass venture) has been as he is a skipper. Im not sure if he is into surf charters he has a lot of ideas for businesses though.
Personally i have been working in WA and planning a summer business for here, or working then hopefully be in indo next winter.
In future I would like to be a land based freelance surf trip guy with camera, small groups of less than 4 people around Nusa Tengarra,West Java and Sumatra. Certain areas i have some experience in anyway. Basically camping trips with small groups to remote locations not just for surf but fishing and diving. Possibly in some areas with kayaks or a scout dingy.
Whether it goes ahead i dont know as the job have now i like and might keep as long as it lasts.Ideas change over time as well.

As for the Bass its been sold a few times as far as i know, but I havent been involved in that in a while.

Part of the lake steamer stops at Walter Peak High Country Farm, where you can find some of New Zealand's rural life. Maybe a ride through the countryside or a tour of the farm house, Colonel will take your imagination? You can return to TSS Earnslaw if they finished looking around the farm. Just enjoy a leisurely cruise on the water and possibly join the song with the piano. Watch later STS Earnslaw sailing on the lake, because it is a magnificent sight to see!
