pros paying for boards
mr do , as you are aware the ones goodself is "pro" ( big thank you to mrs bigwayne) and as such dont pay for boards ( although one has been known to shape from time to time) but one is under the impression that most "sponno" riders from the smaller board manufacturers actually have a system where by the "sponno" rider pays for his first board and takes it back in a very short period ( undinged of course) and gets a new one. but gives feedback to the shaper for the new one all the while
hope this helps mr do
this was bought to you by a very obligeing bigwayne
Have seen quite a few articles lately on shapers and the cost of boards being quite low making it hard for them to make a decent living. If they have a team of riders, do those guys pay anything for their boards? I'm sure guys like Mick and Kelly etc. don't as they are backed by huge companies, but what about smaller/local based riders/shapers. Those guys would go through tons of boards in a year, especially if you got them for nothing. Do they just walk up and place new orders whenever they feel like it? Seems that way when you read about all the new boards they get each month.
