What's what?
"The fact that the ALP retains the Big Australia policy is the very reason they need to be restrained from power."
More 'facts'. Where's that policy again? Filed next to 'open borders'?
And the HIA, spiritual home of the 'grubby subbie', is vehemently opposed to Labor's negative gearing policy, but according to you they're in some kind of homosexual relationship (calling Dr Freud...again!)?!
Right................
"It’s not like you’re rational in this discussion, mate ."
Quite.
Hang on, don't just take Blowie's word about the love that dare not speak its name between the HIA and Labor, here's Leith, his homeboy from MacroBusiness...

party like it's 1992
winter is coming
It’s crazy how nursed the coming shitstorm is being spoon fed.
The “ medicine “ that has been dictated to the ALP/LNP duopoly by Capital of continuous population growth will compound the fundamental symptom of down wards wage growth through TOO MANY workers willing to accept sub par wages to keep their residency hopes alive.
And let’s face it - 850000 new desperate cunts each year who will work below minimum wage to secure a place at the table each year is never going to create labour scarcity.
That’s the point.
In the meantime our nation is losing its ability to be self sufficient , United , cohesive and it’s awareness of the weakness that a divided country presents to a predatory nation.
Hey boys, does this seem spookily familiar? Thinking-wise...
Warning: it's got heaps of words.

The crowd then moved to Hyde Park, where around 300 people had gathered.[3] Further clashes erupted as police used capsicum spray on protesters who at times threw bottles at police.[4] Protesters chanted "Down, down USA"[1] and carried Sunni Islamist flags and signs saying, "Behead all those who insult the prophet", "Our dead are in paradise, your dead are in hell", "Shariah will dominate the world", and "Obama Obama, we love Osama" and threw bottles and objects retrieved from construction sites at police officers. The police responded by spraying capsicum spray into the crowd.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Six police officers were injured of which two were hospitalized.[12]“

Apropos of nothing, anyone on here own a gun?
2009 Dutto turned his back on Dickson electorate demanding safe McPherson seat.
This Gold Coast seat being over 100kms away from Dutto's then residence.
Now Dutto lives on Gold Coast as hates the thought of visiting Dickson electorate.
2018 Dutto again abandoned his electorate by resigning.(Qlders still love Joh!)
We love you Dutto! Fuck us over some more...we're not worthy of our abuser!
Labor's amputee Candidate Ali France lives 5kms outside Dickson electorate.
This being 20 x closer than Dutto's Gold Coast front bench mansion.
Dutto's Border Patrol dogs sniffed out the illegal alien one legged Labor candidate
Her defence of not reconstructing a disabled compliant house doesn't stand.(sorry!)
This sanctimonious freak was nearly our PM & still may be if he kicks Ali's good leg.
tbb actually read that Scomo is more popular in Qld than Turnbull...I feel so sick!
Qlders are so fuckin sorry Australia we got no short straws left...only dipsticks!
Best for the Nation that you all just go ahead with your election... don't mind us.
Qld would only lose it for you whichever way you voted...trainwreck of fuckups!
Queensland & NSW.
I blame rugby league.
The Betoota guys have had a busy time with talking to Jesus lately, they must have a direct line.

Well what have we learnt this week? That Morrison is a complete goose and, to thoroughly mix our animal metaphors, a one trick pony whose only trick is ...... to be a goose. That Dutton is not only a prick, but a stupid prick. That, whatever else you do in an election campaign, DO NOT SPEAK THE TRUTH. And that Abbott is....... well still Abbott and can't help saying what the rest of his COALition mates must still be thinking.
Morrison has been playing the 1960s boofhead, footy playing, "good bloke" for so long now and with so little self-awareness, that the only viable conclusion is that it IS him. That the goosey, swallowed every self-congratulatory Aussie Myth whole, persona stalking the TV screens, is the real man. Which would at least have some authenticity if it wasn't, as it inevitably is, hiding a deeply repressed man-child.
Dutton's case is unfortunate. There are many politicians whose natural instinct is to identify difference and attack it for their political advantage. The essential political skill is to recognise the circumstances under which it is an advantage. John Howard, regrettably, was an outstanding performer in that regard. Dutton, on the other hand, is a complete failure. No, let's upgrade that, a catastrophic failure. Here is a man hanging on to his seat by a thin layer of, quite expensive, trouser fabric whose political skills are so weak that, only a few days after the PM has announced a royal commission into the violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation in the disability sector, he puts the boot into his opponent about her disability.
Melissa Parke, ex-Labor candidate for Curtin, is another one brought undone by a lack of political skill. Melissa, Melissa, Melissa! What can we say? Yes it is true, Israel's treatment of the Palestinians is worse than apartheid in South Africa. And yes, your long personal experience of that injustice, in the variety of roles you have filled, probably does make it hard to bite your tongue. But you cannot expect to say it and retain the support of your party. The Israeli lobby is loud, strong and cynical enough to equate any form of criticism of Israel to anti-Semitism. The TRUTH, during an election campaign? Best not go there.
Come on down Tony! You sluggo wearing, onion chomping, mailbu floundering, anachronistic embarrassment to Warringah. The science of climate changes is still in doubt? Cue raucous laughter that collapses quite quickly to weeping and gnashing of teeth. No digger me old mate, it's not. We know it must be hard to stand up in public and say that, on the major issue of our times, you were COMPLETELY wrong and that your entire career has been devoted to making things worse, but now is the hour, MAN UP, shown us that there is something beyond cotton wool stuffed in those sluggoes ........ but no, too much to ask. And we can at least credit your consistency. Your mates talk the talk on climate change while conspiring to unleash the Adani carbon bomb on the world for the sake of a few Queensland seats that will be largely irrelevant when they lose the election.
Fuck you Bindboy and your constant attacks on the history of White Australians. The “ Aussie myth “ .
If you don’t like Scomo then don’t like him.
If you think you can denigrate decades of progressive Aussie history by aligning it with a single corrupt politician then you are nothing but a virus looking for a host.
If not then fuck off back to Northern England. Your heart is still there.
Read it a few times, and unless something's been edited, I think you're stretching things, Blowin. Of course there are Aussie Myths; stereotypes projected by marketing and mass media that either aren't representative of us or are one-dimensional facsimiles. Hardly attacking broader Australia by pointing that out....again, unless something's been edited after that fact.
No , don’t think anything’s been edited.
Just going gg BB’s historical treason.
What you been up to Stu ? Getting some waves ?
My iPad has suffered a stroke n the right side f ts keyboard if you’re wondering why ve mentally gone down hill s rapidly
Where you been all week blindboy? Getting a few I hope.
As for your post above, loved it.
Just curious if anyone has tried the vote compass app?
It's a pretty good picture on where you stand in the social/economic/left/right map.
"My iPad has suffered a stroke n the right side f ts keyboard if you’re wondering why ve mentally gone down hill s rapidly"
You sure you're alright there blowin?
We all know what computer problems can be like.
Anyway hoping you're getting a few waves as well.
No edits. Plenty of waves.
Haha, computer says no!
BB, guilty as charged for "historical treason"!
A new ridiculous low/high point!!!!
"Yeah but, no but, I blame me Ipad, hey cunt?!"
Oi!!!!
PaTH internships! Value for money or what!?
Westie, I don't really rate that Vote Compass, as I crap on about ad nauseam it's a lot further to the right than I think is accurate.
For example The Greens believe in public ownership of natural monopolies but still within a capitalist society, which for me means they are a social democracy which is roughly centre-left.
Vote Compass shows The Greens as far left - far left politics is by definition, communism and the Greens are clearly not communist.
If I was Joe Punter, I'd look at the far left description of The Greens and be put off voting for them, I'd assume they were too radical.
By that logic One nation is also not far right.
ProMo a weegle?
Logical.
Nah you've got it arse about Indo - if the spectrum was shifted to represent accepted definitions i.e. all the parties were shifted a tad to the right, making The Greens centre left, LNP centre right etc., then One Nation would become close to far right.
Marxism centre left?
I though socialism was one step away from communism?
Here's a different perspective on Australian political parties and where they might sit on the spectrum.
https://www.politicalcompass.org/aus2016
It's a few years old now but looks pretty accurate especially when teamed with commentary like this -
"Labor, like most social democratic parties in the west, has generally shifted to the right and is more comfortable taking principled stands on identity issues like gay marriage than, for example, the sovereignty-threatening and secretive Transpacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), which, in reality, conflicts with every fundamental value of the party.
Nevertheless, Labor has questioned certain aspects of the agreement and also attacked the banking industry — particularly since the revelations of the Panama Papers. Under Bill Shorten, Labor is also critical of the spiralling rich-poor gap, although it’s presented more as something that’s bad for economic growth rather than bad for those at the bottom."
It's been brought up before but there's a very interesting test you can do on the site.
which "natural monopolies" do you think should be under public ownership andym?
I'm not an economist LL but electricity, gas, water and also major public transport are in the mix, arguably banks as well.
"The Greens believe electricity, banking and the internet should be run as essential services, putting public good before corporate profit."
https://greens.org.au/platform/public-ownership
Indo, the Greens are not Marxist! :)
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/dec/22/richard-di-natale...
Either piss off with your trolling or read a book.
Hahaha. You expect him to stop/start now, Andy??
I ended up next to Gandhi in that test so it must be correct.......
Sweet Jesus.
The only thing keeping the country moving is the $300B of ( borrowed ) state infrastructure build money .
And thus infrastructure is unproductive as it’s playing perpetual catch up to service the required needs of the hundreds of thousands of immigrants they’re pumping in and claiming visa fees as export dollars !!
What a shit show.
In the meantime, life is getting more and more crowded. Every time you go anywhere it’ll be more crowded the next time you visit. And on and on.
More pressure on the environment. More pressure on water. Less fish , more land clearing.
https://www.smh.com.au/business/the-economy/strong-economy-no-but-maybe-...
But think of the diversity !
Oh , yeah ......the 750,000 strong “ Indian Australian “ community is being told to vote so the Adani mine can supply coal to children in India. Their loyalties are on display.
https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/queensland/indian-australians-...
Sweet Mohandas, now we gotta start a dedicated Indian thread?!
Vast , vast majority of Aussies don’t want the Adani mine to go ahead as encouraged by Indians voting in Australia against the country’s best interest.
Do you not agree that this isn’t a good road for Australia to head down ? Or does your desire to maintain an opinion contrary to mine override this ?
Q&A (Qld racist Adani overboard pantomime) Qlders are So Sorry!
[factcheck]
SEQ Lib Sen. McGrath claims Bne Powerhouse (Q&A)venue needs coal power.
Powerhouse feeds 100kw solar power into grid to power Sen.McGrath's house.
Not one power mad candidate exampled the very roof above their heads?
https://www.solarchoice.net.au/blog/news/brisbane-powerhouse-resurrected...
The Adani Carmichael mine project and the wider and more surreptitious Galilee Basin carve-up by the likes of Clive Palmer and especially Gina Reinhardt (Canavan's hard-on provider) are flat-out fucked.
But what's it all got to do really with this dodgy article from the Gold Coast Bulletin, Blowin'?
More importantly, why did you link it?
More importantly still, how'd you find it? You just happened to stumble onto it 'cos you're a subscriber and regular reader of that particular rag?
Or did you just chuck certain choice search terms into your search engine of choice, and went with whatever was thrown up?
Hmmm, I wonder what those terms were, hey? I also wonder why'd you throw them in in the first place?
Yeah, nah. I don't wonder.
As an old mate used to twistingly say, "you really do cease to amaze me."
I can't find blowin's link he must have Fox Digital Subscription...opens all newscorp.
If we're nice to blowin he may share with us the election result a week ahead of time.
It was a macro business subscriber article and so I googled Indian Australian voters and Adani mine and that link popped up. It worked for me and I’m not a subscriber.
Usual ad hominem attack , Facto. Speaks volumes for your lack of opinion or insight into any matter.
Of course it’s an appalling situation that Indian Australians would prioritise India over Australia but you’d rather attack me because it’s the Fake left way.
Senator James McGrath on QandA last night further proof of my view of the yokel far right politicians many Qlders elect and that the Liberal Party have never used merit in preselecting their candiates.
It takes a special kind of stupid to make Malcolm Roberts from Divided Nation look sensible but Senator McGrath did it in spades.
Note: Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris destroyed by fire over night. I'm not at all religious but I was totally gobsmacked by its beauty and art a couple of years ago while in Paris. It is truly a lost to the world and an especially sad day for France and Paris.
ALP pandering to and compromising potential governance to account for seperate ethnic voting blocs is just as much encouraging the division of the nation.
Hey Blowin', you did or didn't read this?
Hahaha, why even pose that question?!
A more appropriate one...how the hell did you absorb parts of it?
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14623528.2019.1599493?fbcli...
Putting the Oz in Ozmosis?!
@Blowin:
"In the meantime, life is getting more and more crowded. Every time you go anywhere it’ll be more crowded the next time you visit. And on and on. More pressure on the environment. More pressure on water. Less fish , more land clearing."
I agree. Problem is the government needs to keep bringing in more and more people so that they can work and pay taxes to support Australia's ageing population in the style that they've become accustomed to. In order to stabilise the population they'd need to implement some pretty radical policies. Inheritance tax, tax capital gain on the family home, include family home in pension assets test, raise the age for the pension etc. Good luck trying to get elected on that platform.
That's it Ralph. It's clear what's necessary to curb rampant enviro issues caused by overpopulation but there's no way in hell a government could ever get them through.
Look at what's curently happening, the LNP is repeating Howard 07 doling out unaffordable tax cuts and we move ever further from a sound and sustainable tax base.
Here’s a start :
Stop bringing in thousands of elderly immigrants who attach themselves to the welfare teat .
Or what about didmissing rorts such as this : https://www.macrobusiness.com.au/2019/04/taxpayers-subsidising-internati...
$24M per year to pay foreign nationals to crowd the regions and replace Aussie students in tertiary education .
And we get to borrow money to build the infrastructure necessary to support them whilst they undermine local wages and push up rents/ house prices.
Don’t fall for the lie that to get off the population ponzi roundabout is even remotely as destructive as remaining on it. The aging nation myth is a gaslighting scam. Don’t swallow it.
https://www.macrobusiness.com.au/2017/12/rba-debunks-ageing-population-a...

Small fry. As Pickety pointed out, and as (I assume) most economists already know, the hidden wealth of nations is in tax havens. Reshore that money and govts wont have to install the aforementioned tax measures.
Facto - you know what’s strange?
That in all the handwringing about the rise of the threat of white supremacists , no one cares to mention that despite there being a single murderous WS there have been over 400 Australian Muslims who have paid for flights to the Middle East in order to do exactly what Tarrant did in NZ.
Imagine if Tarrant had post shots on Instagram of his kids proudly holding up the faces of his beheaded victims.
The equivalent of 400 Tarrants from Australia’s small Muslim population .
Not even including people like those who wanted to kill everyone at grand finals day at the MCG in Australia .
Of course that’s the answer , Stu.
But both sides of our political duopoly don’t have the stomach to try it because it might endanger their political careers and they aren’t qualified to do anything else.
You just answered the question in the other direction.
Tax the transnationals, reduce the immigration.
@stunet:
"the LNP is repeating Howard 07 doling out unaffordable tax cuts and we move ever further from a sound and sustainable tax base".
That may be true but I'm not sure that big and bigger government is the solution.
Some further radical and unpopular policies:
No government money for private schools or hospitals. (Despite my preference above for smaller rather than larger government, put the money (maybe not all of it) into the public system.)
No state government politicians.
