https://www.businessofgovernment.org/blog/obama-launches-new-campaign-cu...Thanks for those links B6 , clears up the AI that I was sceptical about. It’s also interesting that Clinton in his day took maybe not a chainsaw to work , but was all for making government more efficient . Were there protests about these sackings back then ? https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/clinton-trump-federal-workers/
Clinton was actually the last president that delivered a budget surplus. Everyone after him, for the last 25 years, has kept borrowing to close the gap and keep the country running. He also turbocharged globalisation which obviously created some winners and some losers etc.

Trump borrowed 8.4 Trillion during his last term.
Biden borrowed 4.3 Trillion during his term.

Yeah, there's the dead-ahead numbers thing: how many did Clinton lay off vs how many Trump's laying off.
But there's another, more elemental, reason for the outrage. That being the manner in which Trump is doing it. Never mind the battle of hearts and minds, or helping employees transition into other jobs, even just severance pay for a soft landing, Trump and Musk are gloating, carrying on as if every suddenly redundant fed worker is a criminal.
Of course people are going to be upset by that.
The thing is, those theatrics are completely unnecessary; they could achieve the same goal without them. Their base is already on board, irrespective of the optics, but it furthers division in a way no other American president ever has.

Yes that is spot on. They are treating people worse than animals, this is completely unacceptable. People have every right to be pissed off and protest.

Calling the sacked workers parasites doesn’t help.

And Musk dramatically being shocked and confused at the hate Tesla is getting is next level clueless.

Trump, Bernie, AOC and MAGA do agree on some things. We need this in Australia too.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/one-thing-trump-aoc-and-bernie-sanders-ag...

I agree that Trump & Musk are pricks in how they are treating people . I also noted in that article from snopes that Clinton had bipartisan support in his reduction of government personnel . I have never understood why the US was always hell bent on space exploration and the billions spent in this area . I just don’t understand the benefits against the costs, while other areas of society get neglected . Was it simply a pissing contest with the Russians ? Now Musk being all in on colonising Mars to me is another huge waste of money and resources not to mention environmentally damaging in the process . He is a smart guy in some areas and an absolute lunatic in others . How much he could actually achieve if his focus was elsewhere . This new world of AI , robots and space travel while ignoring basic human needs and the environment, is pretty fucked up in my opinion .

This x 500 billion (or whatever his net worth is)
The New Yorker wrote an article last year that included this description: "...the billionaire who wields more power than almost any other person on the planet but seems estranged from humanity itself."
Like, every other human can understand why people would bristle at his latest actions, even people on his side can understand it, but Musk himself can't.
Perhaps the biggest news is yet to drop. That his advanced intelligence, uncanny lack of human empathy, and ongoing desire to reach Mars is just the workings of a little lost alien.

The division isn’t a by-product of the actions of this administration. It’s the objective.
That’s becoming increasingly clear. And the actions will be increasingly brazen until they get a public reaction.
They want a response.
They are craving a BLM 2.0. Or a facsimile.
And then watch what happens.

Wanting to colonise Mars while ignoring basic human needs and the environment reeks of eugenics, cos you know there ain't gonna be no poor people or other "undesirables" hitching a ride on one of Elon's exploding tin cans.

Yup. The illegal arrest and detainment of Mahmoud Khalil should be enough to give people this correct perspective. Shit gonna get real violent. CYBERTRUCK TANKS AND ALL THE ARMS YOU CAN BEAR AT THE READY, LOYAL MAGA PAWNS!

I was not aware Trump had gone into the music business with his own line of guitars.
Flashy looking units and a hefty price for those bearing the Don's signature.
Hang on a minute: Make America Great Again, by manufacturing in China??????
And some questionable marketing as well.
It's worth noting Gibson have issued a "Cease and Desist "notice.
What about the tariffs Don????

Tarrific $tuff

Go team USA , Donny will be so proud .

Haha, they’ll be on a flight soon.

Trump can sack as many federal workers he wants.
He'll just get the robot guy to replace them. Maybe that's the masterplan.
Huge potential cost cutting.
Would explain the contempt being shown by Trump.
Fuck humans eh?

Trump closes Education Department.
Project 2025 wants education to be controlled and run by individual states. This is so red states can push religion to the front of education and takeover what is on the curriculum .
Yes, Project 2025 that Trump doesn’t know anything about.

When will the Blue and Red States split?
All the wealth, knowledge etc as far as my understanding is on the West and North East Coast which are Blue states.
Maybe de-federalise and let the Christian fundamentalists sink into the 3rd world?

Trump wants to bring back manufacturing to the USA. The problem is the US is very affluent and most people don’t want to earn shit money in a shit go nowhere job with little future prospects.
Where and how do you get masses of desperate people to work shitty boring jobs? Take away their social benefits, medical benefits, job rights etc etc. and the desperate people will line up for work.
Again. Straight out of the project 2025 wish list.
The Project 2025 Trump knows nothing about.

Historically you used to bring large numbers of immigrants to do these jobs. I know many people from the US who will outright support illegal immigration to compete against China. They won't be able to do it without illegal immigrants.

Apparently the legal immigrants/ hispanics
aren’t turning up for construction jobs
either, for fear of being rounded up and deported.

Hey mate. Yeah good observations and fair predications of what's on the cards.
Dunno though, i'm still suss on robot man and his intentions. There's been a bit of a push the last 48 hours from the party faithful about how great his robots are and to jump on board for Musk stocks now, or you'll regret it 'guaranteed'.
What i reckon is undeniable, is they're a bunch of ruthless carnts swimming in billionaire fantasy land with little concept of the struggles of the common man...actually i think they know the struggles and they're quite happy to exploit it for what it is. Humans be damned!!
Another side effect of all these job cuts, education cuts and general kneecapping of the working population, is there's gonna be alot of desperate humans looking for any means to an end. The military can provide that all and any time. Gonna need someone to protect that southern border....and gather the forces for the northern border too.
It's a fucking shit show eh!

Loyalty pay$

Imagine what Trump is demanding from the spineless shit for his new found loyalty. Wealth for JD comes at what cost?

What rock have you been living under?
I see why you guys are so mixed up
Rogan one minute sucking up to robber barons corrupt Republicans and Trump and self confessed Nazi Daryl Cooper ,
Next minute praising socialism?
WTF
Rogan fits in perfectly with Trump and Musk. A vacuous shell of a human being with no guiding principles in his life other than bro-ness and self-interest. If it benefits him to promote Nazi-sympathizers, he'll do so. If he puts his finger in the wind and decides its better to do a 180, he will.
He epitomizes America atm.
He promotes himself as a "health-nut" while eating nothing but meat and eggs. I mean the guy has come out and said his guts are so messed up from it that there are times he soils himself before he can make it to the bathroom.
He promotes himself as a man's man but his balls produce so little testosterone that he's been taking synthetic testosterone for almost 20 years.
Ditto for human growth hormone, which he takes every day.
Last, his height and weight match up almost perfectly with the average american male. 5'8" and 200 lbs. On average, someone his height would have a healthy weight of 160, so carrying 40 lbs extra. In his case, more muscle due to his daily intake of PEDs, but you can just look at the guy and see how puffy/weird he looks, just like RFK jr, who is also into PEDs.

Bloody oath i'll second that @mick66 and for the life of me can't understand how anyone could listen to this ego maniac dodo babble on in bro talk.

Good observation mick66. I’d assume that’s a more accurate observation with you being from the States. On another note…

From my perspective, the cruelty is the point.
It's an unfortunate part of human nature that when you are down and out, there isn't much worse than seeing others prospering. It's why the saying "misery loves company" has been around so long.
As I've posted before, I don't think many of his supporters see him ushering in some golden age or making there lives better financially. (The poll I referenced last week in which less than 20% were optimistic about the economy, but at the same time gave the highest % of people responding affirmatively to "I the country headed in the right direction?" IMO gives some credence to that theory.)
Musk and Trump are bringing the pain daily, whether that's sending people to a El Salvadorian super-max prison, getting rid of the Department of Education, causing the citizens of Canada, Greenland and Panama to freak out by threatening invasion/annexation, or sacking federal employees by the thousands.
Last, consider Trump sending a special envoy to Europe whose mission included securing the release of the Tate brothers. Or inviting Connor McGregor to speak at the White House lectern. What do those guys have in common other than being vocal Trump supporters ? That they are guys who bring the pain. It's really all that matters.
