I hope that both guilty parties are held accountable, but Netanyahu should be tried in the highest International Court as soon as possible, he’s been the main perpetrator, purely of the drive to solidify his position ( which was rocky at the time) in Israeli politics.
It's all disgusting @AW. Jewish people that I know have explained what it feels like to them. Apparently many aussie jews are done with Israel as it stands and it makes them sad and feel they are back in a wilderness without a homeland. Probably In the same way that so many muslims come to Australia to escape the fuckedupedness aspects of their religion where it is politicised and weaponised. fucking peanut-brained monkeys, the lot of us.

Basesix. Hi mate. How are you feeling ?
I entirely understand why people from other countries are continually knocking on Australia’s door, I would if current homeland conditions are horrific.
Doesn’t matter where they are from, we are human after all, we love, we are loved, we have children, relatives and so on, we just want to be secure, it’s our children’s future at hand when wars dictate.
I absolutely get angry we I hear people sometimes say Australia, the joints fucked.
Yeah, we’ll go elsewhere and see what it’s ‘really’ like.
We are very fortunate to be Australians living in Australia, AW

VJ’s vid on DOGE was very good….yesterday at 9.33….explained heaps on what Musk is doing…..and the speed of transition….and how important that is.
Ha ha the crowd turns Musk and his teenage sycophants away from the Department of Labour and the judge places another temporary restraining order on Musk to stay away from there.
Meanwhile Musk is shown sitting behind Trumps Resolute desk on the latest cover of Time Magazine,
That’s gotta hurt!
I wonder where the crowd get their information ,
Not Fox or your lame stream media,
that’s for sure.

The Nerd Reich,
Shitler Youth.@Indo, sorry I could respond.
Done with it.
Just hope some Koori family doesn't show up on your door with a gun and a moving van one day and a copy of your posts here. You may have some explaining to do.
Come on mate lets keep going, lets just do it without abuse etc
Im sure i can tempt you latter with talk about the legality of borders etc, i have questions on that aspect.
Id really love your take and reply on things ive pointed out though.
Especially why is Jordan never talked about as the Palestine state when it was created put of 77% of Palestine and has majority Palestinian population? (about 60%)
Again there is many options that could be explored where Israel gives up land too, another logical idea would be for both Israel and Jordan to give up land that borders each other creating one seperate Palestine state with the cherry on top being it bordering a shared Jerusalem.
Currently the practical situation is crazy you have Gaza in one spot you have the West Bank Palestine PLO controlled areas like islands in another.
Of late I have been learning about the two state solutions offered that Arabs/Palestinians turned down latter in history.
Keeping thing's connected with the USA topic, the most baffling is the one Arafat rejected with Bill Clinton era.
It was an amazing deal that will never ever be offered again, it's insane that it was rejected and it's really not that long ago.
"The proposals included the establishment of a demilitarised Palestinian state on some 92% of the West Bank and 100% of the Gaza Strip, with some territorial compensation for the Palestinians from pre-1967 Israeli territory; the dismantling of most of the settlements and the concentration of the bulk of the settlers inside the 8% of the West Bank to be annexed by Israel; the establishment of the Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem, in which some Arab neighborhoods would become sovereign Palestinian territory and others would enjoy "functional autonomy"; Palestinian sovereignty over half the Old City of Jerusalem (the Muslim and Christian quarters) and "custodianship," though not sovereignty, over the Temple Mount; a return of refugees to the prospective Palestinian state though with no "right of return" to Israel proper; and the organisation by the international community of a massive aid programme to facilitate the refugees' rehabilitation."
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2002/may/23/israel3
BTW. Your comment on Aboriginal thing is nonsense, this is about state ownership and borders, there is no jews in Gaza even though Jew's have been living there for thousand's of years (in lesser numbers than elsewhere), all living there were removed often by force.
The topic of private land ownership disputes in the West Bank(Judea & Samaria) is a very different topic and is said to be over about 1% of the land in the region and not in the exclusive Palestine areas they are in the shared zone areas, if the other issues of states was figured out these issue too would be solved.

Trying to keep the water and air clean from oil spills and other pollution,
How annoying would that be for Trump and you optimistic MAGAphiles .

Haha that cracked me up...
It's funny cause it's probably true..
^ me too, that's a satirist at their wits' end who's run out of words about the state of the world.
I'm not gonna quote it because those big blocks of text and that quote function do my head in, but this post by Adam12 at
Friday, 7 Feb 2025 at 9:10pm
was very good and informative
I've lost track of the indod v adam12 chat due to those quotes and text blocks - but generally indo's saying clinton circa 90's was the gold standard - and adam's saying there's 100 ways to slice a pie, none of them ideal, but ya gotta slice a pie...
yep, yep...
but much of the (professional) chatter now, is that it's simply too late for a two state solution
and whilst two state solution chat comforts certain players and diolomats, there's now been simply too much recent movement of bodies, and bunkering down of bodies, to make a two state solution viable
sadly, yep yep too
as a two state solution guy.. it pains me to say, people pushing this now, just look like they're appeasing both sides with dated lip service...
somewhat detached from the realities
nutters on both sides clearly not interested at all
nutters ruling the day...
Trump threatens Panama and the Suez Canal. Panama now says they won’t renew an investment deal with China.
Got to give the orange turd credit for that win.
Indo, solid post above on the 23%/77% split and much of the land becoming Transjordan - good historical digging there. I don't know this history too well as haven't looked into it in detail. Stems from the Balfour declaration, which stems from decades of influence on British politics by the Jews of the City, which stems back to either 1596 or 1696 when they were permitted into England (forget which) - and includes milestones like the Bank of England being formed in 1694 and the permitting of usury after Napoleon's defeat in 1815. (Remember Bible says no to this, Koran says no, Jewish Temple rules say something altogether different...) All this permitted savings of which the Industrial Revolution was creating heaps, to be put to work and gain interest, allowing the first generation to retire in history. All this financial compounding in the City made it far more complex and there were many Jewish families and businessmen who could thrive in this environment, eventually influencing politics in the world's Empire of the time. Think of the Samuel family and Royal Dutch Shell for example - originally importers of rare tropical shells, believe it or not.
OK what's going on
Trump ends Biden's security clearance
Trump removes Kennedy Centre trustees (performing arts centre in DC, probably not MAGA people) replaces them with himself
And on the DOGE theme, Trump directs Elon to next audit the Pentagon with DOGE
Popcorn time, somewhere down there is an office with David Duchovny and a poster on the wall saying 'I want to believe' - and we are going to find out where all the cool antigravity funding and tech came from. Maybe. But popcorn anyway.

Trump and Musk have an authoritarian agenda , and will keep pushing and breaking the law to see what they can get away with .
So far there have been legal restrictions to what they have tried to do,
Hopefully that continues, or the courts , slow down the process.
Yep jeff, the checks and balances in full effect
At some point we'll have to turn to Congress - any legislative agenda that might be passed codifying the MAGA. Republicans have house and senate, however they are at odds at present to include all this in one or two bills. (A first bill going after immigration specifically, or all-in-one)
Also seeing lots of comments from around the world "I'm not following my country's politics but am looking at the US closely" - world's eyes are on US
Also Millei in Argentina has withdrawn from WHO
https://nypost.com/2025/02/07/us-news/trump-orders-freeze-of-aid-to-sout...
"“As long as South Africa continues to support bad actors on the world stage and allows violent attacks on innocent disfavored minority farmers, the United States will stop aid and assistance to the country,” the White House said in a summary of the order.
The White House said Trump is also going to announce a program to resettle white South African farmers and their families as refugees."
Republicans have a majority of 5 in the House, 7 in the Senate. Wouldn't take much to get things knocked down or changed if he goes too hard. He has enemies and people with their own aspirations within. Let's see how it goes.
For 200+ years the constitution and associated checks and balances have been promoted as making the USA incorruptible. The President works for the people and doesn’t hold absolute power.
I think we can say the USA is kidding itself. 200+ years of good democracy has evaporated.
Trump is operating outside the law and the USA is a deer caught in the headlights.
Laws are now irrelevant it seems. Trump sees himself above the law.
On a good note, a bunch of teens are in control of the finances.
@Indo,
Tempting as it is, I'll pass.
When I read your response my brain started pinging off but I have to switch it off right now.
We could write a novel at each other here on this probably, and when I was younger and immortal I would have been up for that fight, but I am in my mid sixties now and as will probably happen to you one day, when your friends start dropping around you like flies, and your rig starts failing you, mortality hits you like a punch in the face. My days, they matter now, they don't seem so endless anymore.
I dabble in this stuff to keep me entertained sometimes, bit of matey interaction with strangers, bit of argy bargy is fun and stimulating, but really, I just want to live every day now like it's a day at the beach.
I don't want to be sad, I don't want to argue (not much anyway), I don't want to get angry, or fight anymore.
I want to be a tortise now because I spent too much of my life being a hare.
So I'll come and go here.
Now is a time I need to go.
Sorry, it's a good topic, I know you have a lot to say.
But last night I lay in my bed with the BBC World News on the wireless, listening to an American President sanction the International Criminal Court for issuing a warrant for a guy I know is a war criminal and this morning I woke with my t shirt drenched in sweat, it wasn't hot.
When I was in my twenties and ambitious, altruistic and studying these things I once dreamed of standing at the bench of a Court like that, as a counsel, defending humanity. (Probably wearing a cape no doubt)
These days, in particular the Trump social media era, this timeline the world is on, these wars, these people, crazy arguments, this madness I see, rinsing and repeating.
I can deal with it, it's not a mental health issue or anything like that, but I have to turn off sometimes.
My little world is kinda perfect, makes me very happy, the world outside it, not so much, pissing me right off to be honest at the moment.
So I'm going to spend some time in my perfect little world for a while and let all this stuff go and recharge a while.
I'll be back, we can pick this up later if you wish.
Like I said, tempting, but I'm gonna pass.
I am, despite all the unkind things I have said about you, that I stand by, and how much in vehement disagreement I am with you at times, impressed by how far I think you have come compared to the guy I first encountered here.
So make of that what you will.
But today I'm hanging out on my verandah with my little pet wild butcher bird and we're feeding the galahs wild seed watching a replay of today at Pipe and I don't care about much else.
Carry on.
the good thing about there being so much bullshit online @adam, is that it is.. well.. online. I agree, switch the online to the 'off' position, and alllll that shit that doesn't matter goes away.
online may have the whole world in it, but it is also (for now) just a self-contained bubble in a box.
sounds most healthy @adam. see you in the bubble another time : )
Good work @adam12, there is only so much banging your head against a brick wall before commonsense takes over!!
Headline in AP's daily newsfeed on the US:
"DOGE says it found a dozen people receiving Social Security — at 150 years old"
No worries Adam, i dont think anyone can really come up with a proper answer to why Jordan created out of 77% of Palestine with 60% of the population being Palestinian is not a Palestinian state or expected to give some of their land to help create a Palestinian state or even create one in collaboration with Israel.
The reason why this doesn't get much or any attention is because Israel doesn't push it because they have a peace agreement with Jordan and the last thing they want to do is piss off Jordan and create another enemy it's the same deal with Egypt they have a peace deal with and cant afford to rock the boat, totally understandable even controlling the Rafah border crossing was a bit touch and go, plus both have very long borderlines with Israel combined they make up about 80% of Israel's external borders
In Jordan's case it also has to do with not wanting to risk another Black September when in the early 70s the PLO tried to take over the government and started a civil war.
This is also a major reason why Jordan will never take refugees in numbers from Gaza.
It's a similar deal in Egypt Hamas was born from the Muslim Brotherhood that they had big problems with in the past, they dont want to risk bringing in bad apples either and stirring up unrest
Trump of course doesn't give a shit and can rock boats, hence why he suggested Jordan and Egypt take in refugees.
But it's never going to happen so the people in Gaza unlike other place's cant flee as refugees, even early in the war polls said many would like too and you would expect many more would now.
And many are suppose to be refuge's anyway, although would not be classed as refugees anywhere else in the world.
Technically speaking there is ways for people to flee to Egypt and onwards, but the price is said to be between 5K to 10K USD a person just to get out and most dont have that money those that did or have Egyptian passports went long ago.
So unlike any other war like Ukraine or Syria etc generally speaking people cant flee Gaza as refugees and are expected to stay used as political pawns at best and human shields at worse.
For perspective "As of February 2024, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported that more than 6.7 million refugees have fled Ukraine"
In Syria as of Dec 2022 the number is said to be exactly the same, but you would expect much higher now with the more recent conflict.
On the ICC trump thing, all these organisations are a joke, same deal with the UN that is made up of 54 Islamic states(almost one third) that along with Russia, Korea etc and other love to target Israel but ignore other real issue's.
I dont think many people these days are taking any of these bodies seriously anymore and seeing them for exactly what they are complete corrupt bias jokes.
