Recap

Tiny surf across Mandurah and Perth, while an inconsistent background swell kept the South West around 2-3ft on the magnets with favourable winds, similar this morning but a touch lumpier with early S'ly breezes.

This week and next (Mar 4 - 10)

The weekend is worth forgetting about with some weak S/SW swell not expected to top 2-3ft in the South West along with gusty S/SW winds tomorrow, better Sunday and SE through the morning but not worth chasing hard.

Our new mid-period S/SW swells for Monday and Tuesday are looking a little suspect with the fronts generating them forming a little too far east than ideal.

Monday's looks the best aimed, with Tuesday's being a touch stronger but further east, coming in more south.

The source of these swells are fetches of strong to gale-force SW winds, the first more polar in latitude, with the second forming south of us Sunday.

Monday's swell should provide inconsistent 3-4ft sets on the South West south magnets, with Tuesday's coming in at 3-4ft+.

Further north Perth and Mandurah look to miss out.

Winds will improve Monday, being S/SE-SE early and swinging more E/SE through the morning, then S/SE into the afternoon. Tuesday will be windier with strong E/SE morning winds, strong S/SE into the afternoon.

Into Wednesday gusty, E/SE-E winds are again expected as the swell eases back from 2-3ft.

Longer term there's still no major swell on the cards for the region with the swell bottoming out into the end of the week ahead of some possible close-range SW swell later next weekend and into the following week. Winds with this swell won't be ideal but check back here on Monday for any changes.
