Good SW groundswell through Saturday afternoon and Sunday ahead of a very large and powerful S/SW groundswell Tuesday under fresh trade-winds.
We've got another strong pulse of S'ly and then S/SE groundswell on the cards over the coming days, generated by a vigorous low pushing up into the state this evening and then up past out coast tomorrow.
Wednesday’s building swell will be generated by a strong front presently crossing the Tasmanian coast. It’s a strong, dynamic system but is poorly aligned for the Australian East Coast (quite SW-NE in orientation through the lower Tasman Sea) so swell prospects will be down a bit compared to a more meridionally aligned fetch.
Proteced locations looking good tomorrow and Wednesday before winds go back offshore Thursday with a rare and easing S/SE groundswell.

There’s no real change to Friday’s notes, with our current swell easing slowly through Tuesday (3-5ft south facing beaches, bigger in the Hunter but smaller at beaches not open to the south) ahead of two pulses of fresh south swell for Wednesday and Thursday.

Now, model derived forecasts are an inexact science at the best of times. So if I were positioned somewhere between Port Mac and say, Yamba, about mid-afternoon on Sunday, I don’t think it’d be unreasonable to glance an expectant eye across the coast in hope of some early forerunners.
