Best Days: Today, later Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Easing mix of swells tomorrow
- Small W/SW swell for later Mon, peaking Tue with gusty N/NW winds
- W/SW swell Wed with NW winds
Recap
A fun mix of W/SW and SE swells to 2ft+ yesterday with favourable conditions, easing back from 2ft this morning.
This weekend and next week (Aug 3 - 9)
These notes will be brief today as Steve covers the Olympic surfing event.
The current mix of W/SW and E/SE swell energy will continue to fade over the weekend with clean but tiny waves tomorrow, similar Sunday.
A small pulse of fun W/SW swell is due later Monday but more so Tuesday, generated by a healthy but relatively weak and slow moving polar low that’s currently south-southwest of Western Australia.
It should produce 2ft+ sets with persistent N/NW winds from Monday through Tuesday, shifting a little more NW on Wednesday.
Wednesday should see some localised W’ly swell also in the mix but only to 2ft or so.
Longer term the outlook consists of mostly westerly swell but we’ll look at this in more detail on Monday. Have a great weekend!
