Recap

Wednesday afternoon's kick in groundswell eased back from a good 2-3ft yesterday and today a reinforcing pulse of swell has maintained 2ft surf with glassy conditions before sea breezes kicked in.

This weekend and next week (Oct 21 - 27)

After the nice run of waves the last two days, we're looking at a wet and windy weekend as a low deepens to our west.

The deepening phase will see strengthening E/NE winds feeding into it tomorrow creating choppy conditions with easing surf from today.

The low now looks to sit a little too far north to generate any sizey S/SE swell but side-band E/SE-SE swell should build Sunday before fading Monday.

It's tricky but Clifton looks to see 2ft+ sets on Sunday (bigger down the Arm) with N/NW offshores ahead of S/SE sea breezes.

Easing 2ft surf is then due Monday out of the E/SE, mixed in with S'ly windswell to 3ft or so, generated by strong S/SW winds as the low moves east and we fall under the backside of it. These winds will also create poor conditions.

Offshore winds are due into Tuesday but the swell looks to be weak and easing from 1-2ft max.

The next trough, front combo are due to move in mid-next week, bringing a south-north aligned fetch and strong S/SW winds that look to kick up some localised windswell mixed in with mid-period energy and onshore winds.

Thursday looks to offer the peak but with S/SW winds, cleaner and easing Friday but with model divergence we'll have to review this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
