Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 14th December)

Best Days: Late Sunday, Monday morning

Recap

Our tiny W/SW swell for yesterday came in on forecast and around 1-1.5ft, though winds favoured more exposed breaks over Clifton.

Today it's tiny and even more wind affected with an E/NE breeze.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This weekend and next week (Dec 15 - 21)

The weekend is looking mostly tiny until our new inconsistent W/SW groundswell arrives later Sunday, easing Monday.

This was generated by a strong but distant low in our far swell window during the middle of this week.

A very inconsistent 2ft wave is likely to show by dark on Sunday, easing from a similar size on Monday. Winds on Sunday afternoon will be NE, opening up a few options, with an early NW'ly on Monday ahead of a late morning SW change.

This change will be linked to a broad and strong mid-latitude dipping south-east and across us in a weakened form, with a small increase in S/SE windswell due into Tuesday but with onshore S/SE winds.

Longer term there's nothing too major on the cards so try and make the most of Monday's swell. Have a great weekend!
