Best Days: Saturday, Sunday
Recap
A tiny easing S'ly swell from 1-1.5ft yesterday, while today a slight increase in new inconsistent W/SW groundswell has only come in at 1ft or so.
Not to mind as the weekend is looking much better.
This weekend (Dec 3 - 4)
Satellite observations are in regarding the slow moving and stalling mid-latitude low responsible for the weekend's swell and while it's come in as forecast with gale to severe-gale W/SW winds being aimed through our western swell window, a couple of stronger storm-force (50kt) barbs have been registered.
This is positive and there's been no real change to the size of the swell forecast for the weekend.
The low is now weakening to our west-southwest, with the swell from it due to build through tomorrow, peaking later in the day/overnight and then easing Sunday.
Clifton should build to 2ft to near 3ft later Saturday, smaller through the morning, and ease from a similar size Sunday morning.
Conditions are looking good most of tomorrow with mid-late afternoon sea breezes, while Sunday will see morning N/NW winds, tending fresh NE into the afternoon.
Next week onwards (Dec 5 onwards)
No major size is expected to be left on Monday morning with tiny clean surf ahead of a change.
This change will be linked to a broad but weak and less than favourably aligned fetch of W'ly winds south-west of us. A tiny 1-1.5ft of swell may be seen Tuesday from this, but we'll confirm Monday.
Beyond this the outlook is average so make the most of the weekend's swell!
