Small fun swells for the period
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 29th June)
Best Days:
Recap
Tiny 1-1.5ft leftovers yesterday, while today a new expected W/SW groundswell which performed really well across Victoria failed to offer much over 1-1.5ft again today, below the expected 2ft+.
This week and weekend (Jun 30- Jul 3)
Short summary today as I'm not feeling the best.
Tiny to flat conditions are due into tomorrow with strong offshore winds, but into the end of the week our long-range and inconsistent W/SW groundswell is still on track.
This swell is due to build through the day and offer infrequent 2ft sets into the afternoon under NW winds.
Saturday's better W/SW groundswell is looking good, with a broad pre-frontal fetch of gale to severe-gale W/NW winds producing a good 2ft+ of groundswell all day, backing off to 1-2ft Sunday.
Conditions will continue to be great all weekend with an offshore NW'ly Saturday and N/NW winds ahead of a late change Sunday.
Into next week another fun pulse of W/SW groundswell is due Monday, produced by a weak but broad and elongated fetch of strong to gale-force W/SW winds through the Southern Ocean.
A kick back to 2ft is due before easing into Tuesday. Unfortunately an onshore change is due early morning Monday creating average conditions. More on this Friday.
Comments
hey Craig I'm heading down to tassy for work next and was thinking about bringing my board. Do you think there will be a few waves around south arm/clifton beach mid-late next week? I've never been down there before so not sure how much energy refracts into these beaches.. Hope you feel better champ
Yeah there will be for sure, these sizes are for Clifton. Winds look onshore Wednesday but better from Thursday and Friday with small pulses of swell, it'll be more about finding a bank.
