Nothing significant until Wednesday
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 3rd June)
Best Days: Wednesday
Recap
A small and inconsistent but fun W/SW groundswell filled in yesterday across Clifton, with sets holding around 2ft this morning under offshore winds.
This weekend and next week (Jun 4 - 10)
In short we're not expecting any decent groundswell across the South Arm over the weekend or early next week.
The developments to our east will possibly be felt into Monday afternoon and Tuesday as a fetch of E'ly gales start to move in under the state Monday and Tuesday.
The fetch doesn't look very well aligned but we're likely to see 1-2ft sets across western ends of beaches. Winds will be average though and gusty from the NE.
Into Wednesday a new long-range and inconsistent W/SW groundswell is due across the region, produced by an intense polar low firing up around the Heard Island that's developed today.
A fetch of severe-gale to storm-force SW winds will be generated through our western swell window, with the swell due to offer an inconsistent but good 2-3ft sets across Clifton with N/NW offshores.
After this we may see some better swell as the Southern Ocean kicks into gear, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
