Tiny, with Thursday the only chance for a wave
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 30th May)
Best Days: Thursday
Recap
Small clean 1-2ft waves on Saturday while Sunday onshore winds and a tiny swell left no decent options. Today conditions were even smaller as onshore winds persisted.
This week (May 31 – Jun 3)
The coming period isn't too special with the storm track focussed more into WA and too far north for us to see any decent size across our region.
Tomorrow an infrequent W'ly swell will fail to get in, with Wednesday again remaining tiny and around 1ft. Offshore winds are due each morning creating clean conditions for beginners.
Into Thursday a very inconsistent long-range but strong W/SW groundswell is due, produced by a vigorous and expansive polar frontal progression through the southern Indian Ocean.
This swell will be lucky to offer any real size at all, with maybe 1-2ft sets across Clifton, but nothing in between and generally flat conditions. Conditions will be clean again, with tiny leftovers due into Friday.
Longer term the outlook remains average, but developments off our East Coast are much more interesting. Click through to check that forecast out.
