Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 23rd July)

Best Days: Monday for the desperate

Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)

  • Flukey E/NE swell for Monday with NW winds

Recap

Fading S sets yesterday with tiny surf today.

This weekend and next week (Jul 24 - 30)

Well, the outlook for the coming period remains void of any major swell generating systems. It's also void of any small to moderate storms as well.

Our flukey E/NE swell from strengthening NE winds west of New Zealand tomorrow afternoon and evening is still on the cards for Monday. We may see inconsistent 1-2ft sets under a fresh NW breeze, tiny to flat Tuesday as the swell fades.

Otherwise, a brief burst of strong N winds down our coast Wednesday morning may generate a pulse of 2ft out of the N/NE through the afternoon but with strong N/NW winds ahead of a change.

This is less than ideal and come Thursday there'll be no swell left at all.

Longer term the outlook remains average, but check back here Monday for an update. Have a great weekend!
