This weekend and next week (July22-Jul 29 )

Central QLD: Another round of great surf ahead next week

Surf has declined back to tiny levels since Wed.

Good news ahead though. No surf expected over the weekend.

We’re looking at a complex, dynamic week ahead with a strong high moving across from the Bight and a coastal trough moving up the Eastern Seaboard expected to form a broad surface low off the Fraser/K’gari coast (see below).

Low pressure trough off coast next week brings plenty of swell

Early stages of that pattern will maintain a fresh S-SE flow on Mon, with building swells, likely into the 3ft range at least across the Burnett Coast. Size holds into Tues with similar winds.

Through Wed the system will be moving north and we’ll see a slow easing in size through Wed.

The rest of the week should hold at small levels as tradewinds maintain a small signal of surf into the weekend.

We’ll have a fresh look at size and timing when we come back Mon.

Until then, have a great weekend!
