Looks like we’re entering a temporary lull in swell activity for the short term.
Primary tabs
We’ve got a reasonably fun week of waves ahead for the Surf Coast. After an extended period of quality groundswell (last week) with a lot of west in its direction, we’re now looking at around five or six days with more southerly orientation.
Fresh north-west winds and a continuation of strong W/SW swell will continue to favour the Surf Coast all weekend.
No change to Monday’s notes - we’ve got plenty of great waves expected to finish the week, thanks to a conveyor-belt of cold fronts passing below West Oz over the last few days.
A second phase of long period swell is expected to arrive overnight (watch for the Cape Sorell and Pt Nepean buoys to crack the Tp 18 second+ mark again this evening), which should keep most areas flush with a similar level of inconsistent swell through Tuesday. Conditions are looking great with light N’ly winds right across the region.
Give Saturday a miss and hit up exposed spots on the Surf Coast for the best of it Sunday. Monday onwards looks good with Tuesday probably the pick.
Mornington Peninsula looking the best tomorrow and Friday, with better swell for the Surf Coast from Monday afternoon.
Brief period of clean waves around Torquay tomorrow, with average waves expected until winds swing north-east on Thursday.
Plenty of swell for this weekend and Tuesday/Wednesday but winds look to spoil the party aside for certain protected breaks.
Clean fun waves tomorrow on the Surf Coast, with improving conditions later in the day on the Mornington Peninsula. Plenty of swell for the weekend but with average winds.
