At the base of Damion Fuller's Board Collector blog is the motto: "Buy high, sell low, enjoy the ride." It's an excellent summation of the values Damion, an industrial designer by trade, adheres to when indulging his old fibreglass obsession. Rather than merely hoarding boards Damion has an express purpose - a method in his board collecting madness - and it's certainly not financial gain.

Let's call this a work in progress. A project with an unknown end point.

Around the world there are a handful of rivers that offer the chance to ride kilometre long, thigh-burning waves at particular times of the year. The waves are not a result of wind blowing over water, however, but a combination of a large tidal ranges and ideal river contours.

Last week Pete de Haan's wife surprised him with an early father's day present – a ticket to Storm Surfers 3D. She even bought him a choc top for the special occasion. Pete, 35, went to the Cronulla screening on Thursday night with his wife and young son. They sat near the back and enjoyed the film immensely.
