Brooke Farris Named as Rip Curl's Global CEO
Overnight, Rip Curl announced the appointment of Brooke Farris as Chief Executive Officer of Rip Curl.
Brooke's last role was General Manager of Rip Curl Women's, and her promotion is the first time a woman has run a heritage surf brand. Brooke replaces Michael Daly who moves into the role of CEO and MD of Kathmandu Holdings Limited.
Brooke began working with Rip Curl in 2010 and in that time worked in a number of roles including event management, marketing, and retail.
“Rip Curl has been threaded throughout my life since I was a teen," said Brooke by way of press release, "I’m honoured to be announced as the new CEO. It’s an absolute privilege to lead our talented and passionate crew across the world and I’m motivated to build on our esteemed 52 year history and capitalise on our continued market success.”
Brooke will take up the position of Rip Curl CEO effective from 16th August 2021.
Comments
on yah Brooke all the best in the position.
She presented my missus with a free pair of shoes at the Denmark surf club two decades ago….this is a natural progression for a woman of such obvious high character.
Now Brooke, if you can just publicly state that Rip Curl will never again lead another cunty attempt to hold a comp at Gnaraloo you can begin your ascent into Heaven.
How did you feel about the first Search Mexico contest BI?
The first one made me furious. The current one was grim acceptance of a situation that’s out of ones control. Like a person made paraplegic by a drunk driver in a car crash….you move on with your life and hope for the best from the future but you’ll never forgive the selfish cunt who put you in that situation.
YEP!!
Well said Blowin..........
These scenarios are so far apart on the things that can ruin your life spectrum that they can't even see each other.
Well done Brooke.
She surfs well too, I've seen her in the water at Bells heaps of times, good at everything it appears.
Good stuff. The Curl started when I was two in Torquay and has always to my mind been a core brand. Sounds like they're in good hands.
Great to see! PS Nice welcome from blowie too, sure she'll cherish that one.
Wow judging by the comments the decision is already paying off!
Hope Brooke can get the Curl RandD crew to make a wettie that actually lasts more than a few surfs without leaking!!!!!
Yeah nah, Rip Curl can blow me. A company that started off in a shed in Australia that now price gouges Australians.
Local girl makes good. If that's not on the front of the Times this week.....
Although her time in the water at Bells might encounter a few more hurdles now.
Is it still the way with Quicksilver and Rip curl that they have employees of some sort that investigate how hard core a surf shop is before they allow their products to be sold there?
Like surf shops that are more just clothing and swim wear no boards or wetties are brushed off?
Congratulations Brooke i hope things work out well for you and rip curl.
WHAT A JOKE !
99.5% of surfers are MALE...
So how does that appointmnet reflect the demography of the cutsomer segment.
So Rip Curl will now not be about REAL product developmnet - it will descend into marketing around shapes and colors. It will be about social virtue signalling and a whole load of rubbish nothing ot do with surfing.....because that is the female brains wiring......shapes, colours and nurturing...
wot
Got to be a piss take.
The owners of Rip Curl ( Kathmandu) was part founded by a woman and as far as I’m aware their range extended beyond feather boas , glittery scarves and stiletto heels.
Lol - here’s today’s incel everyone
Keep 'em coming, Logical. Keep 'em coming.
Gee-wiz.
logical your the Monday FUCKWITT
are you ill...Logical
I wish your daughters and nieces the very best for their future.
I worked with Brooke on a couple of events many years ago.. and have been really impressed watching her progression over the last decade. This appointment is well deserved, and a great step forward for the industry.
start making more 3xl wettys for us Vikings
Well deserved, congratulations.
Brooke has resigned as Rip Curl's CEO. Press release to the ASX this morning:
Interestingly, Michael Daly resigned as CEO of KMD (owner of Rip Curl) just two weeks ago, having served in the role for just over three years (following nineteen years at Rip Curl, including eight as CEO).
Smells like something going on internally within the group to me Ben
