"Do something that matters" - Dr Dave Jenkins, SurfAid
SurfAid is pleased to share with you a talk - Do something that matters - that our founder, Dr Dave Jenkins, gave at the recent TEDxManly.
Dr Dave Jenkins conceived the idea of SurfAid in 1999 when, during a surfing holiday in the Mentawai Islands off Sumatra, he discovered communities with extreme but preventable childhood mortality and morbidity. He left his job and set about establishing an NGO. SurfAid has grown from Dave's vision to employing more than 70 staff, 90 per cent who work in the field, has established fundraising entities in four countries, and now works in five locations in Indonesia.

Dave you are one of the good humans in the world, an inspiration to many of us...

Thanks for posting the link blindboy. I'm in too.
Great comments about not doing things they should do themselves. I had a couple of short stints volunteering in Timor Leste and really felt that although what we were doing was valuable, it was just papering over the cracks.
Thanks for putting up Stu, Dave spoke last at the TedX Manly and from reports from people there was the best speaker on the day. Fantastic story, Surfaid get on board!
