Watch: CI Surfboards Backyard Field Notes
The CI team happened to all be around at the same time as some of the best swell in years lit up the local Californian points and beaches.
The clip features Mikey Feb, Devon Howard, Britt Merrick, Dane Gudauskas and Lakey Peterson among others with a building swell that maxed out some of the points.
Set a bit of time away over lunch to get into the vibe of the video.

Could watch MF all day
Reckon he could make riding a fridge door look good.
I had zero interest in twins until I watched MF on that twin pin. I thought Britt did well on the black beauty as it was a bit bumpy. They certainly are a great team of guys and getting a good board off them each time is pretty well certain.
Al taught the boy well.
That red twin fin that MF was riding looked incredibly fast. Not sure I've ever seen a board that quick
Yep, that red board was insane. Not sure the 7'8" looked that good though - too narrow maybe?
Yep that 7'8" looked like a dog but I'm sure it was good in it's day. How much have boards improved over the years?
... rocker
Pipeline rocker..
Not Malibu rocker
Wasn’t it Rincon? But I take your point. Solid but not heaving like Pipe. Actually I’m surprised they were taking up the size so much, looked like 8’ Winki to me, not a ten year swell
Ah yep.
Soz good point
Was wondering why Britt kept sucking on a tinnie through the film and then realised he was drinking Merrick Lager from the Rincon brewery…. ha ha….so funny can’t wait to try some.
Yeah nah…
I'm glad that CI now sells a diverse range of boards. But when do you say that's enough?
I'm sure that Britt could 'do well' shaping customs...
Surfing is precious, the earth is precious, the ocean is precious..
Look after your boards -mend and make do...
mikey feb should get a wildcard for every ct event. so should dane reynolds
MF in the Twin on those really fast sections - I think was Fast Forwarded by CI for marketing reasosn ??
Same as the beer they were drinking, marketing.
Let's face it. Shaping machines have pretty much made every big board brands boards so similiar that none stand out anymore.
