also.. Last Paradise, Sea of Joy, Unchartered Waters, Forgotten Island of Santosha…
udo that gone film is amazing just watched it, those waves are incredible
Udo, that movie Gone : A journey through Mexico was unreal.
Exotic location, good surfing , variety of waves and styles, big airs, big carves and BIG barrels. Well filmed and wasn't jamming a product down your throat.
Two thumbs up.
Cheers for that.
Just the tonic for a long arvo in a remote area with nothing else to do but toy with the sanctimonious Sheepdog.
Driving thru Mexico : Vimeo
Natxo surfing smaller waves than you usually see him on, interesting how much the nose to tail black stripes really stretch the board.
Natxo Gonzalez Puerto Escondido : Vimeo
Barrels.
My top 5 would be
1. Tubular Bells - (the rabbits pits at off the wall)
2. Hell Yeah - rippers on a road trip in the US, going for it
3. Snuff - The G-Land section - unbelievable
4. 5'5" X 19 1/4" The Original - the whole thing is still 100% relevant
5. 30,000 Casablanca to Capetown - one of the best adventure surf movies
notable exclusions,
Changing of the guard - Slater finally loses, Fletcher is accepted, Carol tearing
Kelly Slater Black and White - any grom would love this as a resume today!
Da Hui Backdoor Shootout - men in man surf
The Wild - Noah Beschen : vimeo
I normally detest the air moves but love them when done by this little live wire , some nice tuberiding too...........
And then I saw this one Noah Beschen :Play on Vimeo Charging P Pass.
Also there;s one that loves his downrail single fin, Dakoda by Gabe Roxburgh -Vimeo
Coach surfer - Ethels Section, by Weasel - best edit and track
(forgot to mention this one)
The Phantom : Vimeo
Quicksilver pro 97 g,land
Puerto Escondido Mutante : Vimeo
magical
poor bastard @3.58 board tombstoning and about to wear another on the head.
Surf into Summer by Billabong , epic soundtrack, Waimea contest pumping, MR at the height of his powers , young Occy blowing up, still mindblowing surfing
Brad Domke at chopes on his usual surfcraft : u tube.
Matt Bromley Nias, no vid but one of biggest Nias mongrels ever on a 6'9 ...wicked sequence.
Eaten by the foam ball ..hammered and then 3 more monsters on the head..fuck.
most of Taylor Steele's videos are a good mix of surfing and music
Got to watch Sea Of Darkness last night - thanks Tricky! - and I wasn't dissappointed. It's every bit as good as anticipated. All the stories that you figured were just rumours or overblown myths are detailed by those involved, and shit, weren't there some movers and shakers in the mix? Bob McKnight, Bruce Raymond, McCabe of course, and Boyum, Martin Daly too. Rather than being a gratuitous underworld flick it revolves around the decsion those involved had to make: stay on the right side of the law and make money legitimately, or shoot for the pot of gold, smuggle big time, and keep surfing Indo perfection forever.
The protagonists willingly volunteer info about the history of the Indies Trader and the involvement of Quiksilver, so it's no surprise its release is being stymied by legal stoushes. Fortunately the filmmaker Michael Oblowitz got to interview Jeff Chitty, whose scenes are among the most entertaining, forthright fucken fellow that he is, cos he passed away recently.
RIP Jeff Chitty.

Assasinated by Quiksilver ?
Is quiksilvers demise because they lost their royalties from "the darkness" ,?
Welly have you seen SOD ?
Yeah Udo, I've watched SOD a couple of times now.
Awesome doco/vid.
Those guys ripped G-Land on their short single's, unbelievable;)
How's the fellow always out at G-Land tripping on shrooms, always looked like he would fall and then somehow make it. haha. Gold.

I was amazed at how well he looked in the doco considering the shit he would have put his body through.
Was quite a character, not a very big bloke but could look after himself, had a short fuse you, would not want to mess with him.
Lopez is an interesting one in that circle, swimming in shit with the rest of them but he's mister squeaky clean.:-D
What do you reckon, Boyums still alive? Faked his death.
Lifes a reality thou.i don't do the hero thing like most of you..id love mccabe and co do some brickies labouring.still got an awesome 7'0 from mcabe but can ya get some blocks cunt.

pretty amazing little doco -
Inge Wegge (25) and Jørn Ranum (22) spent nine months of cold, Norwegian winter in the isolated and uninhabited bay of a remote, arctic island by the coast of Northern-Norway, facing nothing but the vast Atlantic Ocean. There they built a cabin out of driftwood and other cast-off materials that washed up on shore, and ate expired food the stores would otherwise have thrown away. But the boys brought with them two items of utmost importance: Their surfboards - perhaps their biggest motivation for the arctic adventure. Because the remote bay holds a well kept secret; Some of the worlds finest surfing waves.

Haha you are so clever Norchock.
We actually live together in a relationship and Udo is the mastermind behind the whole history of surfing with a 10 terabyte memory.
My memory is shit, I can't spell and my english is shocking, similar to yours, but maybe a touch more whimsical.
So maybe you should just keep on looking at porn, on ya lubricated phone, building some BLOCK walls at your CFMEU building site and writing immature crap on the toilet walls, because obviously you're not interested in your wife! Thats whats she told me anyway;)
Think your time on this forum is over Norchock.
Ouch! you've trodden on a thistle.
Norchock...............

Pittts : Vimeo
Marzo is stupidly good
Unbelievable surfing.
Slipping a board into a 'sideways' boardbag ? surprised that didn't get edited.
Yeah i noticed that too Udo.
Im also surprised those spots in the Pittts vid were shown, i thought a lot of those were sworn to secrecy.
Holy shit.
Just watched that Marzo vid again.
Those side slip take offs under the lip look sooo easy on video , in real life......ridiculous skill.
The speed he generates through zero effort , pure positioning- insane.
The best thing Craikey ever did was not be filmed in the same breath as Marzo.
And that's from someone that thinks of Craikey as a hero in hollow lefts....

Drags on a bit ...some good moves from Ryan Burch and some tricky hang ten mal stuff
The new Volcom flick Psychic Migrations has some great surfing. Starts off slow with the usual pump, pump, punt footage but picks up soon after. Ryan Burch on the rainbow keel fish at a South American left point is awesome. There's a bit of SA footage in there too. Cheap to buy on iTunes, I think it was about 8 bucks.

In 1971 I made "Ecstasy" at Bells Beach and Johanna with a great final sequence featuring Wayne Lynch and John Law in 15' surf at Bells. In 1981 the huge year I produced "All Time Bells" with two hours of all the great surfers of the day, then in 1982 "The Legend of Bells" covered the full history of Bells with all the original Legends describing the discovery of Bells and the original track to the beach. All three have now been released for the first time on DVD for just $60.00 the set. I can be reached at [email protected]. Colin T.
