Why has no one made a wetsuit with detachable arms and legs?

I get the practicalities, but surely the boffins who invented the chest zip or zipperless wetsuit could quite easily solve the connection problem for this idea.

I sometimes long for a long leg short arm wetsuit but cannot justify the expense or wastage of owning three wetsuits that need to be replaced every 2-3 years...

Yeah i was sure there was too, im sure its been a thing for a long time.

Id expect you sacrifice some flexibility and water tightness hence warmth though.

Plus for most established brands im sure they would rather us all buy two or more wetsuits rather than just one.

When your steamer gets a bit old don't you just cut off the arms or the legs depending on which bits are in the best condition? Sucks having a 5/3 springy though. Nothing worse than a really stiff summer suit

O'neill has detachable arms a LONG time ago...I had a spring suit where if it was cold ya could add the lower arms.Attacked with velcro through plastic tabs.Hardly ever used the lower arms but always available.I think I bought it late 81 or early 82.
