Argument for changing the surf report name for "Middleton" to "South Coast"

It's a fair point, and to be honest something we decided to do a while back (but haven't got around to implementing). There's a few other regions that need to be renamed too (i.e. 'Cabarita' should be 'Tweed Coast').

However, the reasoning it's called Middleton is because it's associated with the forecast data point of the same name, which is different to Waitpinga (which picks up more size). It's just the way our database was set up: we couldn't have a Victor Harbor forecast point because technically there are no surfing beaches there.

However, with so many 'South Coasts' across the country we initially thought we needed to be more specific. As such we'll probably just label the surf report Victor Harbor in the future - we just need to make some adjustments to the databse to allow for the new system.
