I felt uncomfortable watching that too but I reckon the worst thing was JJ giving Zeke credit for it in the post heat interview. Way to show your achilles heel to everyone on tour. Should've laughed, shown no emotion and moved on.
What's with the dog act thing? "What a dog"? Well scratch him behind the ear and get over it. It's as confusing as the phrase, "I wouldn't treat a dog like that". Of course you wouldn't treat man's best friend like that, but why even consider it? Don't let sheepdog hear you say things like that.

It would be better entertainment if there was a LOT more animal on it. It's all a bit too polite out there and with the rules the way they are they don't have much choice. Priority should disappear if the other surfer is already up and riding for a start. Increasing the scoring waves to three when it is a consistent swell would also help. They sit there letting good waves go by 'cos they only need two. With jet skis three would be a reasonable ask. This would also reduce the luck factor when one surfer gets a wave with way more scoring potential than anything else that comes through and wins on that alone. But it's the WSL so expect more boredom. It's still a hard watch on 12X between waves!
30 odd years ago I watched Larry Blair do a hatchet job on Wayne Lynch at the Surfabout, I thought it was fucked then....Zeke wasn't so in your face to JJF but it was the same negative game that co insided with a Lully heat that helped reward the negative tactics. I guess as Christian Fletcher said that the WSL is full of 'jocks' guys who are all super nice and professional, it adds a bit of interest.....JJF should tell em to get Fucked but not get sucked into their negative vortex
These sooks have got it too easy on the WSL. Bring back the biff. I,m pretty sure JJF would've hassled the shit out of many guys in his time to get where he is.

Watching Zeke hassle the fuck out of JJF this morning , I thought 'what a dog'. Yeh I get it unsettle someone who is better than you to help you win, but its still a dog act.
