Death penalty for terrorists

I know it won't happen in Australia any time soon but I believe there is a strong argument for bringing back the death penalty for those convicted of terrorist offences in Australia. As there is no prospect of rehabilitation for such offenders, the safety of society can only be guaranteed by their permanent removal. Happily, most of these scum are shot dead by police but for the terrorists who survive or failed plotters who are apprehended it would surely be a favourable outcome to see them swinging at the end of a rope.

Well to be fair, he ended up there on a technicality. Only recorded 19 votes (!) and got promoted to the senate after another guy was promoted following a peculiar consitutional dilemma. He's not strictly supposed to be there, nor speak for us.

That said, we've got a developing (and widening) strain of nationalist thought that manifests itself in a variety of ways, including blaming Islam for all manner of woes.

He started Australian conflict with Islam in the first place.

"@Indo, To use the term "tit for tatt terrorism" is an affront to the overwhelming majority of gentle, peace loving and law abiding muslims who would abhore all forms of terrorism as we all do. Only in the minds of the most extreme would this sort of brutality be seen that way. Suggest you edit your post. {edit}."

My post

"Surprised NZ beat us to this kind of incident, this shit is sadly going to happen here is Australia sooner or latter, tit for tatt terrorism."

Sorry you have completely lost me??????????????

What does your post have to do with mine???????????

The attack is clearly a revenge type of attack done by crazy extreme anti muslims, to avenge attacks done by crazy extreme muslims, i in no way support or condone the attacks, but i am surprised it hasn't happened before because there is lots of crazy anti muslim groups and people.

Tit for tatt just means a revenge attack, obviously once this crap starts it doesn't end.

Im not sure what my post has to do with ordinary muslim people, ironically last night i was out socialising with a large group of mostly Indonesians many of which are muslim, i know better than most people that most muslims are friendly peaceful law abiding people, i mean many of my muslim friends in Australia even though they don't eat pork and may fast at Ramadan you wouldn't know the are muslim by looking at them as don't where head coverings, even drink alcohol and have pet dogs that they treat like their kids. (for those that don't know its harem/forbidden to touch dogs in Islam as they are considered dirty)

Silly to blame anyone politician or non politician, like it or not religion is too blame, well how some people interpret religion.

In Indonesia smaller incidents go almost un reported in Australia media, this is only a few days old.

"Police said an Indonesian woman with affiliations to the Islamic State had detonated at least two home-made bombs in Sibolga, North Sumatra, early on Wednesday morning (13/03), killing herself and two of her children.

The incident happened at the tail end of a massive police operation that had netted three terror suspects and 300 kilograms of explosives."

Religion is just a convenient fault line, a cultural marker for those who fear difference, or wish to exploit it. And no it is absolutely not silly to blame politicians who play those games. They are the manipulators. They play on the ignorance and anger that always exists in the community. In my eyes they are just as much to blame as those who pull the trigger. They ARE educated, they are not angry. They cold bloodedly play these games knowing and not caring about the consequences. Don't be fooled by their homilies and crocodile tears. They couldn't give a rats. One way or another it all plays into their narrative.

It's still obviously all about religion, people have been killing over silly beliefs since religion began, religion just divides where division would otherwise not be, not just this sort of incidents, you have Shiite vs Sunni, Catholic vs Protestant, Jews vs Muslims even Buddhist vs muslims I'm sure there is more.

Numerous experiments have shown that we instinctively fear difference. Babies react fearfully to faces of a different race ....... if they have not been previously exposed to them. That is, the instinctive reactions to difference are easily overcome by exposure if they are not reinforced. In some circumstances that reinforcement might be from direct personal experience but more often. in modern times it is reinforced as a deliberate strategy by politicians through media, usually cynically, but sometimes because they are trapped in their own fears.

Religion is a particularly potent divisive force as it is tied to ideas about ultimate values and so can be used to justify any kind of violence against non-believers. It also devalues human life by proposing that it is nothing more than an audition for an after-life. No-one saw this as clearly as Friederich Nietzsche who, while pronouncing that God was dead, saw the consequences of the vacuum that created. He foresaw the 20th century with unerring accuracy.
" The waters of religion are ebbing away, leaving swamps and stagnant pools, the nations are drawing away from each other in the most hostile fashion, longing to tear each other to pieces."

Anyone else seeing the paradox of white power fuckwits pushing their deranged message in a country that established a treaty between pakeha and Maori over 150 years ago? White Europeans and coloured Maori made peace long ago, their two cultures peacefully co-existing.

There's was a model for the future, yet it's now thrust into the spotlight of a violent, nonsensical "battle for civilisation".

inzider's picture

inzider Saturday, 16 Mar 2019 at 11:11am

Slightly off the mark there stu regarding our treaty. That piece of paper was signed by some Maori but not all we're keen on it. Many were not keen at all. It is the founding document of many social problems. Nothing more nothing less. The English version was quite different to the Maori version so quite a few things were lost in translation.
The treaty was signed in 1840 yet the land wars started 20 years later once they realised they had been scammed
We are far from living in peace.
There is still a shit ton of resentment against ol whitey in nz.

Maybe so, but it's an ocean ahead of our indigenuous situation. Guess I'm just romanticising it on the back of Maori traditions carried out in NZ parliament etc, when we have nothing approaching a co-mingling of the two cultures.

I'll move on...

I doubt if any western Travel Agency could pen any better of a Muslim Country!

He popped in to MI6 then around to Templar HQ..."Both on Travel World Top 10"

We now know Dunedin Mosque was original Target up until 3 months ago.

So Hometown/ Muslims/ Muslim Holy Land/ Christchurch were never an issue.
We also know he can change his mind about Mass Killing location within months.

We can read Brenton Tarrant was easily led to flip his thoughts to opposite.
"Kill all kind hearted people from incredible place, heaps more invaders this way!"

How the hell do you explain that Good v Evil flip flop?

"The kid is a legend."

This is the sad mentality that we see over social media etc.

People are cool with it because it's a politician that most of us don't agree with or like, but if it was that rare politician we did respect or like then we would all be jumping up and down.

If the kid gets away with it without any decent penalty what's to stop others doing the same?

And where do you draw the line?, one egg, two eggs, is throwing eggs okay?

Or maybe use something else ?

I mean if it's all good...id even consider joining in id love to smash or throw a few eggs at Kerryn Phelp or Sarah hanson-young

IMHO the incident should be treated as assault and the kid absolutely grilled and set an example of, don't lock him up though or fine it's kind of pointless with our cushy prisons and people would raise money to help him, he should be made to do a years worth of community service or something similar.

That said Frasier Anning should also be charged with assault, a reactionary tap is fine but once you step back and take a second swing things are much different.

The death penalty call is an easy out for people like this terrorist, better a life behind bars, bored out of his brain, told when to eat, shit and sleep, and having to deal with Mongrel Mob and Black Power inmates, who hate white supremacists, for years and years and years, never released. He's 28, decades and decades ahead of him of shit food and incarceration, dying in jail, alone. He deserves to suffer not die.
As for Anning, a million people are signing a petition to remove him from Parliament today. Not legally possible but a powerful statement rejecting him. The kid that egged him will be celebrated and deserves to be. Ballsy little bugger, the young generation of Australia have shown this week how pissed off they are, they deserve our support.
