Any idea what the natural predators are for them?
I think sea turtles and jellyfish.
Thats a pretty big argument for keeping the QLD nets and drums in place.
Nets, but especially the drums take out a few hundred tiger sharks every year, one of the turtles main predators.
You'd expect sea turtle populations to plummet if they didn't control their main predator numbers like that.
