Here's Zenagain's photos from Typhoon Wipha which hit Japan last week.

Zen talks about the swell here.. http://www.swellnet.com/news/swellnet-analysis/2013/10/23/super-typhoon-...

"I have a couple of Wipha's swell taken from a cliff top. I'd have to say the swell would be 20ft+ and it's about a 50kt offshore. Pretty wild."

Victory at sea sort of stuff. That howling offshore is insane.

Good stuff Zen, I particularly like pics 5 & 7.

Zen, these images are typical of an East Coast Low back here in Aus.

That closely stacked and consistent swell energy is classic!

These images below (taken earlier this year on the NSW South Coast) are quite similar to one of the above, and I agree with Fitzroy, 5 looks sick!

Good photos, great update Zenagain,
Interesting to see what goes on in that part of the world.
Japan was an awesome time, when I visited 2 years ago, would definitely go back.

Thanks guys,

Number 5 is the little spot up north that rarely comes together, but as you can see....

And number 7 is the same spot as number 6, but just 4ft and on a sunny day.

Agreed Craig, that ECL is very similar to what we got here the other day.
