Hi all!

Yet another newbie chick to add to the masses of already crowded waves sorry :/ just bought my first board to ensure I finally get out there and give this a proper go! I've been wanting to surf maybe 15 years!!! It's about time I stopped being gutless I think. I have no idea where to go or what to look for weather wise. I do not want to get in anyone's way but don't want to surf alone. Can anyone Puleeeaaase help me out and give me some pointers? Ready to
Go from tomorrow!

Sorry I thought this was just for the sunny coast which is why i didn't mention. I'm point cart but willing to go as far as noosa if that's better for learning

Tip 2 paddle hard, keep your head down
Tip 3 Getting out is like playing forcey backs - give no ground you've gained and try to make ground as quick as possible (no dawdling in the impact zone)
Tip 3 remember to breath
Tip 4 you tube has lots of how-to vids.

Thank you mk1 ☺️ I had a go on a friends board the other day. Small one not sure on size and we went in big messy waves at warana and apparently we were in a rip. I got out ok. Bit scared sometimes but managed. Couldn't quite stand on his board but caught some in laying down. Learned a lot about paddling out! Such a different fitness to weights at gym! Looking forward to using my mini mal and being able to figure out where and when is good!

OK -
tip 5 be a comfortable swimmer (probably covered there)
tip 6 - always know your position in the water off the landmarks on shore, check them before paddling out, then check them regularly once out.

Good luck.

Tip 8, 9 & 10 - enjoy yourself!

There are already too many surfers with scowls on their faces as though they are being forced to surf against their will. It's meant to be fun- and it is.
