BWWT Big wave world tour AUSTRALIA
Where is big and consistent enough to hold it Jeff? I already know your answer but you reckon YB breaks enough to warrant crew flying in at 48 hrs notice? Remember they're mostly coming from N America and Hawaii. Hell of a fly, drive mission for 'em.
Plus, the tour already does it tough with larger windows at more renowned spots like Todos, Pico and Nellscott.
one is sure you have a feeling of somthing mr schmucker, but one would like you to tell us othe than the esteemed mr larsson who can offer the infrastructure that is needed for this circus to roll into mr larssons town? if it was to proceed could you offer the standard of food accomadation that the fat wallets require? please mr schmucker one is not being rude or uncooth just a genuine question is all that is intended.
this was bought to you by a wanting to know if you could answer this question with no smartarsery HRH bigwayne
i doubt we will hear from Jeff for the next couple of days ..the swell is picking up here in SA
depends if you get in his way or not amb,coz hes got no respect for anyone or from anyone overhere!
dont forget its you who wants all the cameras and attention, hope you dont fall on your sword, just do the right thing for a change, your mr nice guy thing is not foolin everyone by the looks of some of the comments on here
This tour will never happen..South oz won't be sucked in like they were for the noodles comp. First if the KI comp needs a bailout then watching pins trying to slide haystacks fom 10km's away in the desertgh ain't going ton pull crowds. The surfers wil be more active inseatd of being so ambushed. Jbay isn't even a wct contest as if they are going to come out to SA? When they trie to nhave a comp at Kalbarri the locals threatened to trawl lures through the line-up. Knowing south oz that will be chum. Jef you won't even sit in the water isn't the BWWT a paddle comp?
respect jeff?respect is earnt,3000 hrs on a ski ,ive spent triple that siting in the drink danglin me feet-now whos the hellman?karmas the reason you dont paddle, youve killed so many you know your time is up
suprised it took that long to piss the whole coast off completely,by the way my life is fantastic thanks
Nothing wrong with killing sharks.I want a set of jaws for myslef..should have got them off of the Whyalla duo a couple of years back!
you disapoint me burley, talk like that will make you paranoid as old mate
Nah not paranoid..I just deal with that shit. If you see one well so be it.. We live in its ocean so if they want us they wil get us.. You just have to deal with it. What can you do stop surfing? but if I get one on my snapper line yeehar!! It is how it is eat or be eaten
I prefer to steer away from seafood. The good ol' 'If I eat them, they'll eat me."
Plus fish tastes too fishy.. if you know what I mean..
Would you like the skin of a polar bear on the lounge room floor aswell, mate we all know the risks, thats the fun of it
jeff schmucker, nice w.o.t.d. pic of greg long..what were his thoughts of y b ? looks like they had it at a good size and with good conditions, how does it compare to other big wave spots they surf around the globe ? did they compare it powerwise to any where else . any talk of a b w w t comp on the west coast, it was obviously discussed ?
Hey Jeff I still believe in my call bruddah!! YB is a sick spot(as you'd know) but like all contests in SA there is a massive disslike for them and mismanagement of them. Take a look at 2mile..was in vogue for a while there then dropped off the radar..Are you trying to compare, size wise, 2mile to YB? 2mile wins everytime..consistency wise then YB gets the nod but these guys are hunting 20-25-30-35ft plus waves ..when does Yaner's get that..but hey man if anyone can make it happen then you can..just make sure those birds stay out the way hahar!!
If they want real size then 2M is not what they want . It does actually shutdown . And you'll find that it is quite rare to get it Big , Clean and Good . Reality is its probably unsurfable above 20-25ft ... , paddle surf anyway .....
I can think of 2 or 3 other options within Australian waters .
Didn't rattle my cage Jeff ..... I was just pointing out the idiosyncracy's .....
Like 90 % of the time , due to Geographical location , it tends to see the Fronts pass through mid Mornings . And Usually swells are
fast receding with a Stiff Offshore . The one day this April was an exception , with close to typical offshore early grading to no wind for the Rest of the day and a solid building to large swell . Peaking in the re-Emergence of a LAGO - cheaky slight offshore wind .
So it hasn't Changed for decades , Two exceptional days in 20 years doesn't really suit for a proposed comp .
I would say its more these facts than , but also probably inclusive of Local / regional industry heavy weights not allowing it .
One big company won't let one of the other ones get away with it . So i would almost say its almost a silent Agreement . But what would i know ?
It hasn't happened yet , and i seriously doubt it will ever . ( although you should never say never ) ... It's not just locals that would oppose a Comp there .
i'll be watchin from above Jeff . make sure to look up and smile when ya flick off a Good one mate .... cheers
o praise the lord, the good brother jeff, are u still blackhawk?
INDO looks GO next weekend ..... and other spots that like similar conditions
Jeff, its nearing the end of 2014 and no BWWT comp ....do you owe Barley $50 ?
Udo ,
Do u get paid to scrawl through old threads ?!?
$50 bucks says you don't .... And if u do Jeff will foot the bill .
The BWWT coming to australia?? is this a good idea? Terrible thing? Pffffft? where are the events likley to be if it eventuates? do you like watching guys getting flogged?/barreled/paddling monsters.
