Tunes
Never got to see them Hiccups, always wrong place, wrong time for me.
Still wanting a Travis Bean (or anything with an aluminium neck)
Never heard a band that uses them that i don't like.
Time for some Melvins and Jesus Lizard!
Durango!!!
Just to lighten things up a bit. These boys are good.
An ode to some of the forum threads.
This also seems appropriate.
haha I'm cranking that one up.. cheers blackers
A little song for Scotty and a reminder of what climate denialism delivers.
Great Springsteen cover
This might work better
Great version sanguine. So here is a cover by Springsteen.
This is fun.
I am at work and am restricted from YouTube here. Wish i could get these links and have a listen. My fave, by far, is Bruce Springsteen. But i like all genres.
How good was Springsteens 2019 Western Stars Album. Bloody beautiful
Yeah Bonza, it is. I like The Wild, The Innocent, and The E Street Shuffle
Yeh it was my little tribute to his handling of the bushfire.
Bluesy kind of day here.
On a different path this is pretty good too.....
from my soundtrack of the 90s and 00s, one of the best ausi bands ever:
I never use to like them, all my mates would flog them and i was more into the more obscure Indie stuff opposed to that whole drop D thing, but as time has gone ive really come to like a lot of their stuff, i saw them live a few times too, must say even when i wasn't a fan i thought they were great live.
One of my friends was dating the guitarist for a while so got on the piss one night with him at the Edge at Broadbeach, he kind of seemed a bit up himself though, i didn't like them at that stage so i had no interest in being a fan boy he was just another guy to me, but he wasn't overly friendly seeing it was only him and me that were the bros there, no loss though the girls were talkative.
Listened to a podcast interview with the lead singer the other month, I was surprised that he was brought up in a super religious family even use to be in a Christian band with his family members before Grinspoon.
Just dug this one out of the crate, vinyl and all. The early 80's were an interesting time.
Hey Blackers, that Neutral Milk Hotel album is fantastic. I'm not sure where Jeff Mangum pulled all that from, I'm led to believe it was inspired by Anne Frank.
@Abmay, it’s a ripper isn’t it? That tune particularly has a lot going on in it.. Have read a bit about him, not sure even he knows where it came from. The album seems to have been his Harper Lee moment..
I reckon I would struggle to find a better album in the 1990s. I've never given 'On Avery Island' a good listen but have seen it rated really highly by some. One day I'll give it some attention. So much music, so little time.
Friday tunes: a reggae remix of the 'Oh Long Johnson' cat:

It's really good! Musician is very talented.
Cheers VJ, and comes with added cat videos, gotta love the internet.
Some country harmonies on a stormy Victorian evening.
These guys could harmonise as well, great live if you ever had the chance.
Ah, the days of rage n good music n humour. Fine sentiment right here:
thanks Patrick. That's cool.
on that theme - here's another good one. This got regular play on 4zzz back in the day, classic.
and that same band had another good one that I recall hearing a bit around the same time - 'Dealer of the crack' (Leader of the Pack) - but I cannot find a link to that one
Caught up with an old. mate in between lockdowns and knocked out an old favourite.
Solid Gold Slab of "_ _ _ _ _ _ "
Martinis ~ Hung Over > ( Album : Track 1 from Late Late Party )
Single Recorded 1965 Released 1967 by []BAR[] Records (Braddock Axton Rousell) Memphis
Band : Johnny Keys & Packy Axton (The Packers / The Pac - Keys)
Background...
JK: " When Packy got enraged, in a fit he'd yell ..."_ _ _ _ _ _"
During this Instrumental & when it came to the break, he'd yell " _ _ _ _ _ _"
Everyone except Estelle (Axton), laughed about it afterward, saying it sounded like he was throwing up!
Hence the title ..."Hung Over"
Estelle hated the yell, thinking it was uncouth and argued incessantly to leave it off the record...
This was one battle she lost...
swellnet crew salutes {Rare Funk On 45}...That sure is some solid gold Groovin'!

Saw Link stage dive off a 4(?) speaker stack one night at the Tote(?), radical!
All a little vague in hind site.

I might have even been there, ive seen them quite a few times at the Tote even in recent ten years.
Link is an amazing front man just full of so much energy.
Nice work blackers.
some wind-down music
Nice. Taking down a notch is a good idea.
Cosmic hipster wigout?
Great track. Never really got into the Smiths, always too bleak for me but that track above is a keeper.
Can't go past this one.
The gentle version of Jack White's new single.
Sophia...
Wow Udo. Hard to say anything else really.
Performance Art? Not going to click.
Yup, title says it all. Liked the Jack White track tho.
Alright, time for some discussion on what yr all listening too. My iTunes inventory is getting a little stale so I'm up for some inspiration.
Currently loving The Drones' album "Havilah".. incredible songwriting and some of the best recorded guitars and drum I've heard in a long time. I'm a little late to the party with this album but it's on high rotation at the moment and will probably stay there a while. I've seen these guys live once (Fowlers, Adelaide) and fortunately they're incredible on stage too. Can't wait to see them again.
