"Indo, your views are so fraught with misinformation and flawed logic, it's a little tricky to actually play the ball. People try to explain things to you in a reasonable manner with facts and evidence, pesky things I know, yet you just put your head in the sand. I don't know if it's willful ignorance or what."
Ha ha fuck off loser with your patronising BS my views are very moderate slightly right of centre and Im not into conspiracy theories, so dont try to make them out as something they are not.
You don't like my views because they dont align with your naive far left inner city hipster views of the world.
BTW. Do us a favour stick to your local wave pool and please dont come down to the Island.
Jeez indo. That's a bit rough mate.
"Ha ha fuck off loser with your patronising BS my views are very moderate slightly right of centre and Im not into conspiracy theories, so dont try to make them out as something they are not."
I've never known of anyone that so intently looks at the world through the lense of the Political Spectrum like you do Indo. You seriously seem obsessed by it. Is that the first thing you ask someone about when you meet them for the first time? Such generalised judgments that this must lead to as well. I recall a conversation on here not so long ago about the Political Spectrum and the consensus seemed to be that no one could agree on what was what anymore and where the boundaries are, apart from generalisations.
Each to their own ofcourse.....
Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Substitute 'troll-y' for 'haole', and...well, you get the idea, Info.
Or not.
Yew!
Billy Nomates with the fellas.
@Rabbits68
Oh please, everyone here is the same, it's just you are far less critical of most posters because their political/social views fall inline with your own, everything her is tinged in politics.
If Facto leaned to the right or a fan of Scomo etc, he would get absolutely smashed for his endless trolling.
Go back and read my reply to the Midnight Oil video, it's fair criticism and on topic, no mention of Facto in the post, i didnt even go for the very easy predictable angle of calling Peter a sell out, like most do.
Because i didn't see Peter as a sell out, no one can say he went into Politics for fame or money, personally i believe his heart was in the right place i believe he wanted to try to make a difference in a party that could make a difference (unlike the predicable Greens avenue)
The fact he got chewed up and spat out and achieved little only goes to show how hard politics is and how much compromise must be made.
Anyway have a look at the reply i got for having that on topic opinion that Facto didnt like.
BTW. For a while there when i was younger the Oils were my fav band, so if you think i have no interest in discussing the Oils think again, my post about the albums should show you im not just some guy that hasn't listened to the Oils etc
Today for me listening to the Oils is a bit weird at times though, my political/social views have done a 180, so i do kinda cringe at times when im realising what im singing along with and i dont view Peter in the way i once did, im sure we all have that experience though where with time we view bands and albums in a different light to what we once did though..
I found the "novelty use of indigenous" a tad insulting...just saying
It was meant to be smarmy and insulting, in a sick, but ever so sweet, protected, but gutless, hidden way.
"seriously how many times can they use the novelty of indigenous people & culture to sell records, especially when they rarely if ever touch on issues that affect every day indigenous people, okay they did the whole thing well with Diesel & dust but should have just left it at that.."
"Go back and read my reply to the Midnight Oil video, it's fair criticism and on topic, no mention of Facto in the post, i didnt even go for the very easy predictable angle of calling Peter a sell out, like most do."
Maybe its just me........
Of course it was meant to be exactly how it read, fellas.
Yes, "smarmy and insulting, in a sick, but ever so sweet, protected, but gutless, hidden way."
And we all know it*.
And it goes for nearly every seemingly gormless but really wilfully ignorant, disingenuous 'dead cat' post.
You were rumbled years ago, Info. You get the responses you deserve. Keep dreemin'.
*apart from Zen. Bless. The fellow travelling stooges don't count.
They do count Facto.
I can't say it enough.
New ARIA Hall of Fame inductee....
This story's right, this story's true
I would not tell lies to you
Like the promises they did not keep
And how they fenced us in like sheep.
Said to us come take our hand
Sent us off to mission land.
Taught us to read, to write and pray
Then they took the children away,
Took the children away,
The children away.
Snatched from their mother's breast
Said this is for the best
Took them away.
The welfare and the policeman
Said you've got to understand
We'll give them what you can't give
Teach them how to really live.
Teach them how to live they said
Humiliated them instead
Taught them that and taught them this
And others taught them prejudice.
You took the children away
The children away
Breaking their mothers heart
Tearing us all apart
Took them away
One dark day on Framingham
Come and didn't give a damn
My mother cried go get their dad
He came running, fighting mad
Mother's tears were falling down
Dad shaped up and stood his ground.
He said 'You touch my kids and you fight me'
And they took us from our family.
Took us away
They took us away
Snatched from our mother's breast
Said this was for the best
Took us away.
Told us what to do and say
Told us all the white man's ways
Then they split us up again
And gave us gifts to ease the pain
Sent us off to foster homes
As we grew up we felt alone
Cause we were acting white
Yet feeling black
One sweet day all the children came back
The children come back
The children come back
Back where their hearts grow strong
Back where they all belong
The children came back
Said the children come back
The children come back
Back where they understand
Back to their mother's land
The children come back
Back to their mother
Back to their father
Back to their sister
Back to their brother
Back to their people
Back to their land
All the children come back
The children come back
The children come back
Yes I came back.

Deluxe Snuffy. The wild colonials hoped against hope that it could all stay under the rug forever.
NAIDOC week. Legend. Says it all.
"10-1 was their best album imo.
And their concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre (recently constructed) coinciding with the release of that album was the first concert I went to without adult supervision. I'm guessing '83."
oils were my first too, circa 86 at the portarlington footy ground, painters & dockers supported them
12yo me went alone, i was lucky that my parents had friends that camped there every year, so they hung out while i went and rocked out
fuck it was a good gig!
We used to climb over the wall at the Royal Antler and dodge the bouncers to see them support Rose Tattoo when we were groms.
For me it was Head Injuries and Bird Noises.
"A tall, bald Australian singer sits next to a skinny, young English producer in a studio in Shepherd’s Bush, London. It’s October 1982, the rest of the band has flown home after five weeks of intense recording, and the two of them are doing the final mix of a new album. As the opening song, “Outside World”, comes to a close and bleeds into the opening blast of the next one, “Only The Strong”, the singer bounces in his seat and waves his hands around.
“Wait until the kids in Mullumbimby hear this,” he says."
Saw Archie and Ruby Hunter perform at Boggabilla years ago . Unreal . Organised for the local community there . Christine Anu also.
thanks for that stu, inspired me to chuck 10 to 1 on & crank it up!
Beach House - On the sea
This is one of those "Calm the fuck down' tunes......and we all need one of them now and then......don't we lads?
Out on the sea, we'd be forgiven
Our bodies stopped the spirit living
Wouldn't you like to know
How far you've got left to go?
Somebody's child, nobody made you
It's not what you stole, it's what they gave you
In or out you go
In your silence, your soul
Would you rather go unwilling?
Your heart is full and now it's spilling
Barreling down the steps
Only a moment left
In hind of sight, no peace of mind
Where you begin and I'm defined
Daughter of unconscious fate
Time will tell in spite of me
In hind of sight, no peace of mind
Where it begins and we're defined
Shadows bend and suddenly
The world becomes and swallows me in
Whistle to a friend gentle till the end
Anyway in a name she takes shape just the same
That was a beautiful tune Megzee. Very calming indeed. Cheers...

75yrs Young today.
Always Young the legendary Neil......
It would be interesting to see how many of us have sat around a campfire listening to Neil Young on scratchy well worn cassettes, in the back ground.......
Or, listening to mates doing their rendition of "Old man take a look at my Life".......on out of tune guitars....
Oh to live on sugar mountain.............................
Yeh, and falling asleep in the back of the van, listening to the surfing music, and the swell.
Great memories MB.....
Save what we can mate
Deluxe! Yeh, for sure. Those circuits are burned in, set forever, irreplaceable, on call in an instant. Fueling, fanning the journey. So, part of the plan for me is staying as healthy and fit as possible, for my next chapter. We, our era, tasted and experienced the best surfing has to offer, the undiluted, raw version, and we earned a next chapter in surfing, so have a good one, thanks for the sparks rabs and megzee.
Beautifully expressed MB........no thanks required mate.......just the same old sea dog club......
Now we cannot forget the Saints.....can we MB
Volume must be on 10....
No, for sure, and we can learn a lot from them too megzee. I'm crashing, gotta get the beauty sleep, etc. Plus, early start and I have to be at full throttle tomorrow evening, ready for a snuff... a pumped up, amped up stray horse... smithy, will be on the rampage in the weights room... again...

Haha, I can only imagine it facto. Meanwhile tell stones that I’m preparing for the showdown, and I’ve even prepared a play list that will have him sprinting to and holing up on sleaford tce... again. The den of iniquity is frothing at word of his return!

Here are some good slow down tunes for a lazy Friday. Beautiful voices and great playing.

Enjoy the history lesson you young rippers.......
Alright, time for some discussion on what yr all listening too. My iTunes inventory is getting a little stale so I'm up for some inspiration.
Currently loving The Drones' album "Havilah".. incredible songwriting and some of the best recorded guitars and drum I've heard in a long time. I'm a little late to the party with this album but it's on high rotation at the moment and will probably stay there a while. I've seen these guys live once (Fowlers, Adelaide) and fortunately they're incredible on stage too. Can't wait to see them again.
