just googled tommy pipe 1991.2min of footage of that day,had forgotten what brilliant surfing that was...
A mate of mine was in Hawaii when Tommy pulled out what I think is the greatest single manouvre ever peformed on a wave. The stuff that happened in the lead up to him paddling out and doing that hack is something of an underground ledgend. Out of respect for Tommy I wont repeat what happened on here but those who have heard the tale will have a quiet chuckle about surfings wild past!
on this day,in 1991,tommy gun executed that forehand hack. with, 12-15ft pipe coming,in a freesurf could muscles carroll do it again i say yes....a 50yr old legend- do it again tom,i say youre up to it -also beats me how you can look like a frangar full of walnuts at 50.......
