Board for Sale.
Know how you feel Steve. I 'accidentally' bought a McCoy TriZap on eBay recently. Lobbed a bid down with 30 mins to go just to see the history and whatnot. Ended up being the one and only bidder. Seller was spewing, I was stunned, partner was pissed.
Good luck with the sale.
I'll give you $400 for it, but you have to autograph it.
Everyone should have a Mitchell Rae for quality waves - at least once in their life
Fine shapes - my gun is 13 years old and still has plenty of life in it
If I was 7kg lighter (and $500 heavier) or the board 1/4inch thicker this one would be mine yesterday
Jeez, we need a 'like' function on forum posts. Shaun, that was a crackup.
Yeah, I "like" stunet's.
That's a good idea, could simplify things a bit.
Damm!!!! But to be quite honest, the board would not have been any good for me, I just wanted a chance to get your autograph.
Discostu, You serious on selling the Stinger ?
Some more pics up here and lets get the Auction rolling
I would have bought this immediately.
The Mitchell Rae, not the stinger.
Yes a wicked shooter and sold within 48 hrs...only 2 3/8 though blowin ?
I'm an 18 3/4 by 2 3/8 man from way back , Udo.
Sometimes I like a bit more meat, never less.
disco, even if the Stingers not for sale would love to see some more pics of .
Hey udo, sorry I didnt look at this thread until now. sure will run a few up later. I realised from one of the other threads though that there is no way I could let it go to some left leaning nincompoop. A board shaped by blokes for blokes being owned by a sausage jockey, or some climate change believer, or penis tucker, or breast binding baka just isn't right. Otherwise, happy to let it go. Cheers.
Discostu - I'm not really the sycophantic type, but ......breast binding Baka can't go unheralded.
Welcome to Swellnet.
Anyone know anything about my Maurice cole 6'1" X 18 1/2 X 2 3/16, MCA-322-EEV sighned board? I was going to donate it.
I sell this with the EXTREMEST reluctance.
And for the following reason:
Late odds have firmed on a back to back trip to Taheets and my semi-gun stocks have been depleted this winter.
I went for a little tyre kick on Sat after surfing a few fun wedges.......went to Local Motion in my beloved Ballina Industrial Estate (the finest industrial estate in the World, with Urunga in second, Yamba third).
Gunther Rohn was there alone and after seeing me fondle a few bigger boards he asked me if I was looking for something.
When I told him I was looking for something 6'8"-6'10 for Chopes we went through a few boards...........there were a few close but nothing quite right.
I was kinda uhhmmmming and ahhing and he said in his thick South African accent:
"Fuck bru, why you want to take something that might be only just good enough....I can make you a custom that's just right...I just made one for Walshy to take over there".
"Well, I'm going in three weeks, that isn't enough time is it?"
He chortled.
"Look around bru. It's just you and me. Don't you hear the news. Retail's fucked. I can make you one tomorrow".
He uttered a figure to me in a low voice, even though there was no-one else around.
"Shit, I'd be a fcuking idiot to knock back an offer like that", I said.
We went into his shaping bay. Gunther was running a soft monologue: "Got to catch the wave....all that upheaval and draw...glass it heavy ....three layers of six.....might as well..don't want it to snap....though it could easily...keep the meat under your chest, nothing extreme......and so on and so forth.
He was writing numbers on an order form.
I started thinking: I'm supposed to be going to the dump to get rid of shit and I've just ordered a new surfboard to take to Tahiti.
Hard sell.
Need to do some horse trading.
Hence the board for sale.
6'5" x 18 3/4" x 2 3/8". Finely foiled.
This board is an Indo/hollow reef specialist. It would be first picked for G-Land, Deserts, One Palm, etc etc .
It threads the tube like no other board and is worth well over a grand new.
It's in extremely good nick. 8/10.
Helluva lot of life left in it.
I need to sell to pay for the Tahiti custom.
$500 firm.
