Drug Aware Pro Margaret River webcast
Poor decision, can't wait to see monotonous barrels with no turns...
am i the only person getting crap "live" streaming (across multiple work-sites and computers, generally on google chrome) since they went to "youtube"? 10 seconds on then 10 off not unusual
ASP graphics say the best size at The Box is 8-12ft.
Oh really..?
TOO THE BOX!!!!
ASP needs the frame grabs of box barrells. Kellys Box shark wave is going haywire around the world.
BTW Kelly be spewing he's not in round 5.
Still trying to get my head around the concept of my tax dollars being used to make the surf at margies more crowded. Certainly dont want to see any body attacked, but if a twenty foot pointer was to leap over the top of a surfer during the final it would do wonders for the crowd factor.
Of course i would never surf there again either.....
Nah I agree completely Ben.. Margies is firing today.. big barrels and open faces to drop wallets on. Would just be good for one round. Round 5 only. just to see how it goes and to change it up. I'll be shitty if it runs all day out there.

Absolutely. Miguel's wipeout alone will make it to the mainstream media nightly news.
ahaha he ate shieeettt. Would suck being a goofy out there on such a steep take off.
when its this inconsistent, they shouldn't run at the box. I can see if it were more like 6ft that it would be a good comp environment, but this is far from edge of seat stuff in head high chew & spews
whoever makes a takeoff wins
I don't know. PUPO is making it fuckin entertaining
What a joke. Pupo fully rattled! Should of made that last one easy, but after two heavy wipeouts, gone!
hopefully yadin & kerrsy's heat will still be at box cause I reckon it would be good to see them on it.
You guys are killing me.
I hope there is a good highlights reel for when I get home.
wicked drop, didn't think jordy made it until you see the view into the tube
faaark Miguel nailed that
He made a wave! god bless.
jordy's wipeout. so square... better than watching chopes at the same size haha
oh well called that too early, i'm liking this decision to go to box a lot now. Reckon this next one will be a great heat
Dunno, I thought it was better when they were eating shit.
Would someone please buy pupo a new front tooth.
Pupo has had a shit load of work done on those dentures, so its a WIP. But sums up the day for the braza's - tough day at the office
Though its still gabys to take - they will be back to main break.
Over for the day, wasn't expecting that. Fading swell - they don't have a spare day Monday, so tomorrow??
Enjoyed seeing a few heats at the box, good to see how they handle something a bit different although more than a day there would get boring. Sounds like that's it til Sunday.
love how it steps out right when the exit is in sight, caught a few of them out today. Cruising for glory then bam! nose/rail buries and its all over haha.
Yeah theres only a few seconds of action but a lot to get right in that time
Layday today...CW calling for 15 second intervals on Sat arvo and then 19 sec on Sunday....offshores all day
The commissioner said they are aiming for a finish Sunday morning at the box.
Takes two hours to move all the gear. Either wave it will be a Sunday finish..
Kierans on a tear if he pulls it off

yeah how's this for technical!
Current SN models only calling 2-3 foot with that longer period stuff filling in Sunday arvo....thats 24 hours after CW. Interesting
Geez I'd love to see the box surfed in 19 sec groundy!!! Would certainly be some pupo free falls if that came to fruition.
Ben ,. I have not seen wat the surf looks like but can judge from experience it would be inco & not very good at margs / box . Nobody seems to realise this swell is very wrong for the box . I wont say why but from my experience the box requires a totally different type of swell than todays prediction .
Surely local surfers would have told keiran p / organisers of comp that there will be no chance of box becos of the wrong swell specs days ago , but of course theyre hoping for it.
There lies the problem caml, nobody listens to the local input. They got incredibly lucky on thurs with an almost wnw swell that led to being able to surf the box, the following froth that the finals would be held there was talk of the town and the web unless you knew that a sse and ssw swell would lead to zero chance of the box being surfable. The fact how they get to build a massive judging tower on the previously protected dune in front of box is a better question. All the rules for locals and protecting the hooded plover ;no dogs , keep off the dunes blah blah and then ASP can slide into town and do whatever they like , the VIP section full of shire bigwigs, politicians with their shiny passes feeding from the trough in their newest surf clothes as some kind of pay off for allowing them to do as they please. Thank fuck it is over, just another couple weeks till they remove all the infastructure from the carpark and dunes and we get our point back. Surf is pumping today .
Haven't been to Margaret's for a long time, but that scaffold on top the dune sure looked a little reckless considering the local ethos, pretty annoying for locals who abide by often over the top rules for years, then it is all thrown out the window when the 'stars' come to town. Apparently surferrs have a profound appreciation of the environment, yeh right
Just about to kick off in a few minutes. Looks like our model forecast has nailed it: I'm seeing good 4-6ft sets on our Margs surfcam with E/SE winds.

Here's a couple of grabs from the surfcam (actually seen bigger bombs than this but wasn't quick enough to capture 'em!).
