Ten bucks an hour to park at Manly
fuck the man
The Man is the head of "the establishment" put in place to "bring us down." Though nobody has physically seen "the man," he is assumed to be a male Caucasian between the ages of 25-40 and is rumored to have a substantial amount of acquired wealth, presumably acquired by exploiting those whom his "establishment" is "keeping down."
Maybe catch the bus next time
It is a longer walk but I mostly park at the Manly pool ....no meters , relax and take my time .....go get the car and drive back to the beach to pick them up ....a skateboard makes the trip back to the car
a breeze .....have fun !
I've been saving my tickets, to be a pest...
Thats fucking gold,
You should of said "I want to play a game but don't put your hand on my windscreen or my car to see what ticket is there. I'm watching you"
Funny as ACB, clever shit.
That’s too costly, seriously $18.27 for two hours parking? Didn’t you know that a female has been handed the largest bill parking citations ever issued in Chicago. The tickets were given over a three year period to a dilapidated 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo. However, she is switching around and suing the city over the matter.
If you live there, you get two parking permits free. Yep, additional ones are $200. Not sure about a ripoff, Carlton loves stirring. How many cars has he got ?
This year's sticker also lets Manly residents park free anywhere to Palm Beach.......so a pretty dumb comment. If you bought the three stickers necessary last year it would almost certainly have been more than $200.
Well, not quite but almost.
Took the wife and kids to Manly for a trip on the ferry to Circular Quay on Sunday afternoon. All of the multi storey carparks were overflowing with lineups, so after a couple of laps of the Manly area I actually stumbled across a rare beast - the empty street park. Yeah, I know there are longer parking options in Manly but options were limited. As was my patience.
Anyway, because I didn't have $18 in spare change to feed the meter for a measly two hours of parking, I elected to use my credit card - so they whacked a surcharge on to the transaction for good measure.
Seriously. $18.27 for two hours parking? While I was busy punching in my tax file number into the parking meter, two other would-be punters (who had also scored nearby parks) walked away in disgust at the price.
And the bitter irony is that once we'd got the kids ready, walked over to Manly wharf, waited for the ferry and gone to Circular Quay, we didn't have enough time left to do anything. With the parking meter ticking, we would have only had five minutes to get off the ferry, grab a coffee and reboard the same ferry, so that we made it back to Manly in time to beat the ticket inspector (of which I believe they prefer the term 'Council Ranger').
So, we moved from the inside seats to the outside, just to spice things up.
Jeez, it's not cheap living in Sydney!
