the biscuit man is the answer, go jimmy go
daverave,,,, hahaha... That was a nasty chunk of reef.... "biscuit reef"..... The left would just rifle towards the biscuit, and if you didn't flick out in time, you were munched like an iced vovo at a bingo meet lol..... I remember pulling in, getting clipped and doing cartwheels in the barrel... You had just got out of the water, and was sitting up on the rocks looking straight down into the pits..... Remember that? There was a dead tiger shark washed up in lodged in the rocks.... the whole bay stank...... I got pitched over the "biscuit".... You thought I was dead..... I came up and saw you about to jump in and gather my corpse...... Somehow, I was totally unscathed.... Don't fuckn know how...... remember that, jimmy???? Classic times hahahaha.....
unforgettable, not a scratch on you. great times. good memories.
Floyd... No mate..... lol...... Who does that shit ffs?? Dave - yeah great times - Wonder what Alison looks like now hehehehe.......
Anyway back on topic...... Floyd, check out first dog on the moon.... Funny ode to "chopper bishop".
Floyd.... I think Q and A is a must watch tonight.....
I also think there's some stuff on corporate/banking terrorism on our farmers....
Surely, this isn't new news to us? This was pre-election. Read it and weep.

Sheepdog, what's your theory behind why Plibersek won't work as Labor leader? In my books she presents well, seems authentic, seems much less of a stooge than Shorten and comes across as a better speaker.
Is it the gender thing or something else?
you've been framed!
It's tax time!

(pssst, the guy who wrote this used to be a professor in the Research School of Economics at the Australian National University...now he's the Shadow Assistant Treasurer. I know he's been to Harvard and all, and used to be a university professor of economics, but does he really know what he's talkin' about?? Compared to say, Jo-Ho?)
Bilge Shortle should send a thankyou card to chopper Bishop..... She's the gift that just keeps giving.... Another day, another travel scandal...

Northern beaches? They can do and vote for whoever steve.dont live there dont care.
norchock wrote:Northern beaches? They can do and vote for whoever steve.dont live there dont care.
OK.
I've brought this up somewhere before but what is up with Sydney's surf/beach culture? Federally, you've got the prime hard right loons Bishop for the Northern beaches, Abbott in Manly, and Scott Morrison in Cronulla! Speakin' for the people?
Malcolm's literally in the middle representing the Bondi Hipsters.
And the ALPs only got the Bra Boys back. Reprazent!
Shatter...it's called democracy. If you know the north shore, doubt they are 'hard right'
The North Shore...isn't that where John Wayne Glover plied his trade? I've spent some time in Mosman...you're right (!), Tony Barber, it isn't 'hard right'...more lunar. It's a generation game.
You forgot Abbott's Robin - in the Adam West Batman sense - in Mikey Baird NSW Premier member for Manly on the state level.
Geezz Shatner's…whats with this Glover bloke … you ok ? Sorry, but there is absolutely no relevance of Glover to surfers or people living north of the harbour, on this blog at least.

Wonder how the 30 odd thousand are faring with Abbortt, interesting next election.
I think we will see more independents next time around in these marginal seats.

By any reasonable measure, no matter what your political inclination, the Abbott government must be considered a massive disappointment / failure. Perhaps the worse government ever.
i thought sheepdog wss a bit quick to call them the worst government ever, but now they have proved themselves over and over again. there really does not seem to be any agenda whatsoever.
I'd really like to hear what people who voted for him think
barley?
that mick guy thats was rightfully defending them at some stage in the bwginning of this thread?
wellymon? (i know you're done with politics but...)
zenagain? (i know you're outside the country but you're a self confessed conservative)
nick3?
anybody?
anybody at all?????
even if you agree with their policies they seem to be a bloody shambles
even moreso than the six year shambles that was labor....and that's saying something!!!!
Voted for them.....dissapointed in their vision for the future. They don't provide a sensible picture. Whether that's just the state of politics today I don't know.....politicians are so afraid to speak their mind.
Added to that they appear weak..the decision for a same sex marriage referendum is piss poor. Why can't they make a decision themselves.....what sort of leadership is that. Why the fuck does abbot exist?.
Voted for them..only because labour was worse. ...dissapointed in their vision for the future. They don't provide a sensible picture and have their heads in the sand on major issues. Whether that's just the state of politics today I don't know.....politicians are so afraid to speak their mind.

I'm so far removed from oz politics that I feel it hardly rates a mention.
I suppose the question that's really on my mind is do you and those around you feel worse off? What I mean is do you feel your lot in life has diminished under the Coalition or were you more prosperous under a Labor government?
When I go home which averages out at about once every 2-3 years, the only things that really seem to change are the prices. A few new buidings go up here and there, a road is upgraded or another under construction, public transport is still underutilised because everybody thinks they're entitled to a seat and can't stand up for 30 minutes, surf is still crowded and the big beautiful wide open spaces are still there with clean air, very little litter and people going about what they do. How much is a schooner these days? I'm scared to ask.
I think both sides of politics in Oz are rotten to the core but I'd like to think there are a few on both sides and in the independents that keep an even keel. I'm for a strong middle class but agree with abolishing certain forms of middle class welfare. I think a countries prosperity can be measured by the strength and breadth of it's middle class. I don't think the Coalition are all about just the big end of town, I think they really want all Australians to work, pay tax and enjoy the beautiful fruits this country provides for them. And the reason why they're not in opposition is that quite a few other people feel the same way. Some people may have more in life than others, but sometimes I think some people on here don't believe well off people actually work hard and that they just inherited everything.
Worst government/PM ever? Not yet.
thanks happy and zenman, really interested
i think your right happy regarding no overarching vision being their problem. they just seem to have cruised in thinking they'll do what john howard did and everything will be sweet. a lot has changed since howards time.
good response zen, very thoughtful, i don't think my lot dimished/deminishes under either side. but I do expect LNP to be good economic managers that will maintain/increase prosperity. with the current government even bodies like business council, and others criticise the current government openly, not norrmally the done thing, and that's where I've given up on them. I expected all the other stuff the leftys are outraged about (with the exception of the prince phillip thing (what the fuck was that about????)) but I'll only put up with it if they're doing what they've supposed to be doing well well, it appears they're not!!
gotta agree (almost) LNP aren't just about the big end of town, they want to encourage participation of all, (sometimes.through tough love) but abbott and co. are way too close to big mining, big oil, big coal. which makes our global climate change position embarrassing to say the least.
love your comment regarding public transport, lots of talk amongst Australians regarding climate change and pollution, but they're all too precious to stand up for 30 minutes, this is the' sense of entitlement' governments should be addressing. they need to see what the japanese do to get to work hey zen? on one of the 'best public transport systems in the world'
No-one got anything to say about the loss of the car industry under a government and high viz Tony that promised to create 1,000,000 jobs?
Slumber away ........
